@JoNorvelleWalker Why would an induction thing get hot enough to warp it?

Beats me but after that experiment with the Paragon the Darto pan no longer sits flat.

That's a tragedy. Is it supposed to be for induction?

@Smithy You are too kind, really, made my day ☺️

And @Kim Shook, I'm with you, should have taken my portion out after 1 Chilli! 🥵.

Ps. If the world reopens and we make our long dreamed of trip to America - I will be strongly aiming for a road trip through your neck of the woods.. if your kitchens open 😄

Decided to try making potstickers. Came out really good. Pork, Napa cabbage, scallions, garlic, Ginger.

Cleaned out there produce drawer for a veggie stir fry (pretty sad :) ), and brown rice.

@RWood -  thank you.   Ithis the recipe you use?  I found another one, but it contains mushrooms, which I detest.  And congratulations on your potstickers – they look wonderful.

@CantCookStillTry – If you ever do make it to my area, I’d love to meet you all and make recommendations.  I have had nothing but good luck meeting eG folks.

Yesterday, a friend of Jessica said they had too many crabs to eat (????), so they asked Jessica if she wanted them:

I picked crabs half the day:

That’s a quart bag.  Dinner started with tomatoes and marinated cucumbers (as most dinners will while summer tomatoes are here):

The building blocks – cornbread, succotash, Edward’s country ham, and crabmeat:

The dish, drizzled with butter:

Many years ago, when we went to the Outer Banks every year for our anniversary and had our celebratory dinner at Ocean Blvd., we had a similar dish.  I bought the cookbook and made this a few times.  It is such a perfect combination.  The original recipe calls for jalapeno cream to drizzle over the top, but in order to make it so that it isn’t too hot for me, I have to roast and skin the pepper and I just wasn’t up for bothering with all that.  It was delicious.

Dinner tonight was just a pile of saltines, cocktail sauce and the last of the crabmeat!

Mrs M and most of the kids are out of town for a few days, I’m home with my oldest daughter (3rd oldest child) and she’s made it her mission to feed me, so I’m not allowed to cook. She’s 15 and I think yesterday spent nearly $200 on groceries to feed the two of us for four days....there will be leftovers.

Tonight she made pizza: Half is Margherita, the other half features red onion and salami. She also made a honey balsamic reduction drizzled on top.

Thanks, they came out really good. A little tedious, but I knew what I was getting into 😊.

That's not the one.

Here's a link for the one I used.

@Kim Shook, the crab looks excellent. I got to try blue crab in Maryland. I was more familiar with Dungeness (different crab anatomy) and I am already lazy to pick crab. However ... I really enjoyed the blue crab and I was the last one at the table still picking crab and eating. (I ate blue crab cakes as well.)

So nice of you to pick crab for your family.

This was either a late lunch or an early dinner.

We went into Victoria yesterday and had planned to have lunch, but the place I wanted to eat at was closed

on Tuesday.

So on the way home I stopped and picked up a small Sterling Silver prime rib. Just big enough for two slices.

Cooked on the grill and served with roasted potatoes, and the first local corn of the season.  Green beans were also local.

A few recent dinners:

Pork chop removed from bone, pan sauce. Sautéed spinach. Cole slaw. Last of the potato salad for now.

The other pork chop made a nice stir fry, with broccoli and mushrooms. Rice of course.

Inspired by the red beauties raining down upon us and surrounding herbs; saute w spinach, onion, garlic, evoo, oregano, thyme, sweet basil, pepper flakes, chick broth, a few lonely string beans over wasabi pasta and topped w air fried panko cod.

My wife insisted on the wasabi pasta as a healthier alternative to try (I knew better but obliged). They didn't completely f up the dish but close.  Texture and flavors did not go out all.

Very much reminded me of this lady:
