Sourdough croissants spiked with small amount of SAF gold.  Bottoms nearly burnt, need to raise one up in the oven and lower temp 25F.  The exterior of the PaC not pictured, baked on another pan that was too high and outside totally burnt hahah.  The "acceptable" crumb really surprised me, because I rushed the lamination, which caused the butter to tortise-shell in the first two turns - I kept at it to see what would happen so I could learn to diagnose mistakes, and glad I didn't just junk the whole thing :)

For someone at the beginning, those croissants are beyond spectacular! Kudos!

Woke up this morning with a notion to make cookies. A friend had posted a recipe for "Laura Bush Cowboy Cookies," I presume from one of those First Lady cookbook collections. Oatmeal, chocolate chips, coconut, pecans. I subbed GF flour for the all purpose and it worked quite well (Bob's Red Mill Baking Mix).

Recipe here.

I halved the recipe, as I had no need for five dozen BIG cookies. Next time, I might up the coconut and pecans, and leave out the chocolate chips.cookies.thumb.jpg.4601feffe6907b9bfb4261b151226cff.jpg

Trader Joes gingerbread cake. Mix had been sitting in my pantry for 3 months, so the Covid-19 declutter continues. The mix includes crystallized ginger, which does of course sink towards the bottom of the cake. It isn’t as dense or spicy as real gingerbread, I would characterize it as double ginger cake.

I'll bet it smells good and goes with hot tea.

Sort of reminds me of Krusteaz pumpkin spice bread mix.  I'm down to my last 5 boxes.

Turogomboc - Hungarian cheese dumplings.

First covered with a cinnamon flavored thick brown sugar syrup, than coated with buttery breadcrumbs.

Seconds with same syrup, followed by a coating of poppy seeds.

Served warm with sour cream and Amarena cherries.

Bananas Foster...well just the sauce to put over vanilla ice cream.  First bunch of bananas of season finally ripening in backyard.  My gardener told me when the bunch formed that they take 100 days to ripen.  He was right, almost to the day!

Jessica requested Chocolate Chip Banana Nut Bread:

Looks good! I love banana bread. I'm not the biggest fan of chocolate chips in my banana bread but my love of banana bread far outweighs that so I'd happily scarf it down. :D

Same here. Though it does look amazing. And I like that the chocolate is concentrated on the top.

Having received my bag of almond flour via Amazon (brief backorder) I was able to make my usual vegan banana muffins. I use 1/2 c almond flour and 3/4 c whole wheat flour. Added some carob chips to the mixture.

Very messy and embarrassing photo, but my favorite cake!

I know we're all our own worst critic but I'm not seeing anything to be embarrassed about in that picture. All I see is a nice, shiny tasty-looking cake.

A few Easter cookies. I'm trying to refrain from baking a lot, there's only two of us and since I can't give it to anyone 🤷‍♀️

These are Raspberry cookies with almond royal icing and wafer paper decoration. A little gold lustre painted on the edges.
