How is zebra?

@liuzhou zebra is fantastic. I think it is a bit sweeter than horse, a very rich deep red, and like your donkey, even more tender. I've had horse as steaks and roasts, the zebra was simply grilled over a wood fire with salt and pepper.

I had no idea hostas were edible! You learn something new every day...

Yes, Hosta shoots and Hosta blossom scapes are vegetables in some Asian countries.

Veal Frikadellen with Kohlrabi - frikadellen made with ground veal, sautéed onions and tarragon, eggs, milk-soaked bread and mustard - first briefly seared and then finished in the oven. Kohlrabi was simply sautéed in butter/oil and finished with toasted almonds, lemon zest and juice, parsley and kohlrabi greens

Is that a beet?

I'm pretty sure it is. Can't go against an Aussie tradition. I could be mistaken but I think even McDonald's has a burger with beetroot.

Roasted chicken thigh (steam girl), house-made "French" potato salad, corn.

On a recommendation from a friend, Moe and I went into Victoria Wednesday to have lunch at Sushi Story. And it did not disappoint.
We each went with the same Dinner Bento box.

Although I asked if I could swap the salmon sashimi and the salmon Nigiri for just tuna in my box,
and they were happy to accommodate my request.
I'm not a fan of raw salmon but I love raw tuna.

Lunch started with a bowl of miso soup, and Sunomono,

a cold noodle salad with a prawn, and two complimentary spring rolls.
There was so much food, that we weren't hungry for dinner.

I wanted something sweet, so I made my fudge and called it dinner.

Kenneth, it didn't specify on the menu, but based on the colour, texture and flavour I think it was albacore.  It was some of the

best tuna I have had.  Soft and buttery.   Can't wait to go back.

Dinner last night was hot chicken sandwiches with homemade fries.  I had a chicken breast leftover from

the chicken I roasted a couple of days ago and lots of gravy.

I used the fry disk on the Breville FP to cut the fries.

In honor of the Outback restaurants that are closed we decided  to have dinner it ours in Missoula.  Sad about the last one closing in Honolulu, we had dinners there many times.

Last night it was Petite Tenderloins with mushrooms, garlic mashed and bread followed by a Thunder Downumder.

Always a great meal.

I didn't know they closed down.  I've never eaten there.

Yesterday my nephew offered to do some cooking.  He made orange chicken, and I contributed the rice and broccoli.
