Yes, indeed! The food was great but talking to Kerry is such a pleasure! I only suspect that if I had the luck of having Anna and Kerry as neighbours I would truly have the best time in their company and likely convert my husband to SV.

 

And I was invited and had to decline! I am praying for a second chance to meet FrancI.

 

Anna, too bad we didn't meet this time. I'm positive that soon or later we'll have another chance!

Oh but having tasted your cakes and cookies (thank you so much) I am glad we do not live as neighbors. I would weigh 600 pounds within a couple of months.

All you can eat at Adami Sushi.

We quoted for too much food and I don't know if I'm proud or ashamed to say that we ate it all!

Edited to add some text. Happy to answer questions. And yes rotuts in there are squid tentacles!

I can't say i recall what its call, but the last snap of the fish fin Ive had before

 

more or less as i see it.

 

absolutely delicious, if eaten with care.

 

and very difficult to come by.

I call it the collar whether correctly or not. I believe it was listed as salmon neck? Unfortunately it was definitely overcooked.

Today Kerry and I returned to Rayhoon Persian Eatery in Burlington.

Barberi bread and pita bread with three dips (right to left!)

Zeytoon Parvardeh -- green olives with pomegranates, walnuts, lemon and herbs.

Kashkeh bademjoon -- eggplant

Barani -- creamy yogourt with spinach and garlic

It looks good but fruit, even raisins and dates, is just something I haven't been able to reconcile with my savory courses. I try because I know there\s no logical reason for it. I won't pick the fruit out or refuse to eat the dish if someone serves it to me, I just never actually enjoy it. I don't even care for tacos al pastor if there are actual chunks of pineapple in it even though I love tacos and I love pineapple. It's some weirdness of mine that I wish I could teach myself to get over.

It was really good. Perhaps the best dish on the table. But I have enough strange hangups about food not to attempt to persuade you to change your foolish ways. We ordered far too much food as per usual. I just enjoyed the fruited rice for breakfast, my son took home the plain basmati rice from the lamb dish and Kerry took home the dips and breads. So many meals for one!

You are not alone.

I'm not a big fan of fruit in my savory foods. And fruit in a salad with greens?...uhm, no thanks. Keep the strawberries and mandarin oranges away from my salad, please.

Perhaps that's another reason why I'm not a big fan of mint in savory dishes because I associate it with desserts too much.

And while we're at it...keep nutmeg out of my bechamel sauce :angry: ...nutmeg is only for desserts, of course.  :raz:

Scooted down to Buffalo on Monday to grab a few things - had lunch with partris.

 

We went to a bistro called Coco

We shared (or should I say patris had a bite of and I polished off) a rather tasty salted caramel chocolate mousse. Picture on my american phone - so not accessible at this time.

Are you up north again, Kerry?  I'm hoping Anna is ok.  She hasn't posted for a few days....yeah yeah, that's not much, but I am a worry-wart.

 

Those salads look rather good.  I've neglected salads...I've been eating fresh tomatoes in lieu lol.

Yesterday Kerry Beal and I had our hearts set On checking out a new Ramen shop in Hamilton. When we arrived there after parking and paying for the car we discovered that it was only open at lunch time on weekends. Disappointed but hungry we headed into the shop next-door which was an all you can eat Japanese food place.

Most of the dishes are pretty obvious but I am happy to answer questions if you see something you don't recognize.

Based strictly on appearances, the quality available at an all-you-can-eat place where you live looks to be much greater than the all-you-can-eat places anywhere near where I live.

Joyce Chen  had an Eatery on Memorial Drive  In Cambridge MA  

 

in an MIT structure  on the first floor.

 

some time ago.

 

I was invited there several time over the years.   I was a college student, but not at MIT

 

the stuff was exceptional.

 

Joyce eventually had to move away

of course her newer restaurant  

 

on the 1A parkway

 

was exceptional for its time

 

it had truly regional Chinese cuisine

 

I was also invited there several time

 

no all you can eat

 

but stunning.

It is unusual for Kerry and me to meet up for lunch on a Sunday. However the coming week offers little opportunity to meet at lunch time due to work and appointments. After a leisurely and pleasant wander through one of our upscale grocery stores we headed to Hakka Fresh for some sustenance.

I started with a Mango Lassi

Then we both dove into to a plate of deep-fried spicy cauliflower

We shared the Hakka house special fried rice with chicken and shrimp

And something called Four Delights which was mostly stirfried vegetables with some shrimp and I think beef.

We had some steamed rice on the side.

Today we returned to Kenzo noodle house as we were right in the Asian supermarket area of Mississauga and the restaurant is very close.

Kerry ordered the King Shoyu Ramen.

I went out on a limb and ordered the Nagasaki style seafood Ramen.

We shared a platter of tamagoyaki.

( There was nothing wrong at all with the seafood Ramen but I missed the pork.)
