We were at the internment for my cousin a few years ago and the entire cemetery was covered with CG poop.  My cousin had a strong sense of the ridiculous and we all knew he would have been laughing hysterically at a bunch of somberly dressed people doing a fair imitation of a Monty Python silly walk at a funeral.  He was young, newly married and about to become a dad and his accidental death devastated us all.  That laughter saved us.  But we still would have gladly shot those geese and eaten them with gusto.  🙂

The MacDonald tradition.  Traditional meat pie with made from scratch eggnog on Christmas Eve.  I have had every meat from rabbit to squirrel to moose to venison in this meat pie. I have experimented with all kinds of seasonings and spices. Back to basics with beef, pork, salt and pepper — a little Belgian beer for moisture. The crust makes the meal with salt, pepper, and paprika liberally disbursed within it. Diced meat not ground.

We love traveling at Christmas time, especially to places that don't necessarily celebrate it. Maybe it's because I always felt a little left out growing up in a predominantly Christian neighborhood but not celebrating it myself.... But no travel this year so the virtual travel continues - South Indian shrimp for lunch, and tonight - Tom kha pla - Thai coconut soup with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves and sawtooth coriander from my garden and some wild caught cod.

All looks like something I would be happy to be at table with and Henry's new toy looks loved. The color on your roasted cauliflower soup is deep! That type  of slaw is my indulgence from a packet - I could do it scratch but all the  ingredients for $2 on sale...
