What is a 'smokie' to you? Not from Arbroath obviously.

...your dancing child with his Chinese suit.

Typical breakfast concoction: Roast a Poblano chile and slice into strips. Dice and sauté ginger, garlic, and chiles. Stir in chile jam, Poblano strips, cilantro, and cumin. Add eggs, mixed with half-and-half, black pepper, and fish sauce. Finish with feta cheese.

When making breakfast concoctions I always assume that somewhere in the world, some grandmother is rolling over in her grave.

Tasted good, though

Sorry if your grandmother is rolling, but that looks like a perfect breakfast to me. I'm sure that my Irish/Scots grandparents would be rolling when I add pesto to my breakfast eggs or don't include 'neeps in my stew.

Got this really nice sliced Römerbraten (cured & smoked pork collar; similar to Italian coppa, but not aged). Thought that would - briefly fried - do very well on eggs Benedict …

And it does ! For “mass preparation” I have successfully converted the poached eggs to 5 min eggs. Perfect yolk results without all the stress …

Leftover surprise - egg with braised broccoli (with garlic and anchovies), steelhead, feta, peanut sauce, fish sauce, and sauteed ginger. A classic "tastes better than it looks" breakfast.  😆

Edit: Perhaps this belongs in the "Gallery of Regrettable Foods" (clicky).

Who knew there were gluten free bagels? They look sort of whole-wheatish, I expect from brown rice flour. Not a lot of flavor, but similar to most supermarket bagels.  Served as an adequate vehicle for cream cheese, red pepper jelly, and bacon.

Actually, I’d like some of both, please.  (I’m not big on choosing.) 😁

@rotuts – I’m glad you found your lower salt Spam.  I’m not a fan, but it looks so good that I just added canned corned beef to my shopping list!  Just another salty mystery meat guilty pleasure!

@C. sapidus- So happy to see you back, Bruce!  You have been missed here at eG.  I have thought of you so often and wondered how you and your family were doing.  I’m so glad to hear that everyone sounds happy and healthy!

@Ann_T – I can’t imagine many things I’d rather sit down at breakfast to than those gorgeous tomatoes and your bread toasted.

@kayb – I do bacon and cream cheese all the time but I’ve never thought of pepper jelly!  Thank you, ma’am!

This morning:

Bacon, egg, black pudding. There's Wensleydale folded inside that egg. Orange juice and GP Tips. That is indeed a tortilla. And my go-to condiment:
