after dinner, we walked a mile or so for some vegan passion fruit with ube coconut cookies in it.. It was pretty great.. If you are in the market for vegan Ice Cream, Van Leeuwen seems to be the best right now.. That and Noona's.

Have you tried @nathanm's pistachio gelato?

I haven't, I looked at the pistachio recipe.. it looks good! My favorite ice cream is the chocolate sorbet from franny's..

The trick is getting the nut paste smooth enough.

Only complaint, the chorizo was overpowering.  Not that the chorizo was bad, it was quite good.  But in my opinion the dish would have been more perfect without it.

I haven't been anywhere since February. Decided to brave it and sneak away for the weekend.... but not brave enough to eat out / do anything yet 😂. So we had food delivered to the apartment. At least we can see the sea.

Al pesto, pesto is masculine. One of my kids favorite...I rarely make it! Here even more than NY the basil is so big, expensive and with a strong anise flavor.

I knew I could count on you, @Franci - thanks!  Similarly to @heidih, I can get some nice varieties of basil here at the greenmarkets. This one was a small leafed variety I received in a produce delivery, and it made a nice pesto. Not too anise-y.

Simple, two little cute turkey balls.. And egg noodle tagliolini https://lamerenda.com/products/taglioni-pasta   It's a sample.  I can't eat it because of the egg.  But this is a new line of products that I had the chance to try many items from..

Now I pay a fair amount for pasta - I'll get up to that $10/lb. price point. But this place is nuts!

Lucky you on baby sweet potato. I only ever see the big kids. I imagine the smaller ones have a skin/flesh ratio I would prefer

I'm craving fish roe @liuzhou.  It's been a long time since I've had any.

Yesterday Ronnie went fishing.  Caught a few white bass.  We have both been wanting ceviche so I made a small batch

A friend of Ronnie's still has asparagus coming out of his ears so he dropped some off in our mailbox (social distancing ya know)

@weinoo and @BKEats have you ever tried Un posto italiano in Park Slope? They started as a tiny place making just pasta but since I moved I see they opened a café too. I put my hands on them, truly obsessed on pasta quality and ingredients

Little one insisted on getting two patties ... so I had to split his one. He was so proud that he ate more than us 😜

Charlie and his best friend from grade school- who is also half Korean- discovered an Asian market that is Korean run and he told me that they had better kimchi. I had just ordered some Wagyu Kalbi from Heritage Food and we needed some rice and kimchi so I went to this market  and found the kimchi was the same brand as was at the other Asian market which is not as Korean focused.  The Kalbi came today and I got the other stuff yesterday. I also got some kim bob which we had for lunch yesterday.  The kimchi was much, much better.  It was the same brand but much fresher so it looks like they have faster turnover.
