We have been on a seafood kick.  Oysters again along with some fried cod.

Macaroni and cheese and some spinach to go with.

Yesterday I had to venture out on my own to the big city which included the grocery store.  Always dangerous to let me loose in there by myself.  They have a fancy cheese section.....unfortunately it's filled with mostly, well, not boring, but nothing edgy or different.  You know what I mean?  But, still, it's fun to peruse.  Right away I spied a huge round thing that looked exactly like a cantaloupe. Hmmmm...this looked interesting.  It was Mimolette cheese .  I looked at the price of a pound of it and was kind of surprised.

I rooted around until I found a small piece.    It was .25 lb. I just had to try it.  It looked so interesting and I really had to see what $24 a pound cheese tastes like 🤣

It was good.  Like a  hard, sharp cheddar.  Wouldn't spend that much for it again, though.  But it was fun to try.

On to dinner.  I had some crab leftover from the other night (I know, weird right?) so I made ravioli and a light cream sauce.

Looks delish. What's in it?

Panko breaded Chicken Breast (boneless, skinless, pounded), pan fried in a bit olive oil, placed on marinara sauce and topped with shredded mozzarella and parmesan. Baked in a preheated 400F oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheeses start to brown.

@Shelby

I understand

so completely on the cheese you have selected.

I limit myself to TJ's

carefully selected

because , well  Ive been around a few blocks

anyway

Im so sory I can't remember the Member

that suggested an extra creamy cheese I might enjoy

I very much appreciate that suggestion

indeed I do

but I found it at a supermarket

and it was the same price as yours

not the end of the world

but it was cut into smaller selections

ans wrapped

it looked like a large golf ball to me

so I passed.

I can't remember who it was either that mentioned that cheese...was it @blue_dolphin on the Trader Joe's thread?  I jotted the name of the cheese down, though, because I wanted to look for it yesterday.  They didn't carry it.  I think the name of the cheese is Rubius?

Wednesday we had cod veracruz with some cilantro rice

Thursday was roasted salmon with salsa verde, lime rice, and a shaved zucchini salad with queso fresco and pepitas

And that took care of the rest of the huge haul my fish share gave me (except for one pound of cod that I froze to make into chowder later)

Tempeh goreng sambal with zucchini (fried tempeh in savory-hot-sweet sauce made with tomato, soy sauce and spices).

Baked potatoes, mixed in a sauce of chili paste, coconut, onion, garlic, chopped peanuts, scallions.

Nasi pecel - rice with tamarind-peanut pecel sauce, flavored with kaffir lime leaves and lime zest.

And breaking the Indonesian theme with a Thai style yum som-o - thai pomelo salad, to which I added julienned kohlrabi. Flavored with fish sauce, lime juice, sugar, chili.

What is the red and  green stuff?  Is the red a fruit relish of some sort?

Last night's dinner was a parmesan polenta cake with creamed spinach and spicy shrimp. Red wine portobellos were my side dish.

the Cheese Enablers got me to look at the prices of some nice looking cheese

at a higher end supermarket with a large selection of cheese

$ 24.99 / lbs  seems to be a common price point.

Im happy enough with Tj's     what they have is some of the same as the higher end places , and 30 - 40 % less

still .................

24.95 must be a price point some of the Market will bear
