This should be an easy pasta dish. (Just grab the Rao's from the pantry). But I like all the vegetables. A recent favorite low end price range boxed tomatoes--Colavita. They are tender ripe without the usual hard pale stem ends often found in tins. Stick blendered and finished with a few hunks of a young gorgonzola. We like this with shrimp scampi shared at the table, --'no pasta' scampi. But we are having shrimp tonight.

*we have 5-6 different tinned/boxed tomato choices as well as tube paste in the pantry. deNapoli is a favorite, then Rao's. Always a big #10 can from Costco for big batch chili. Surprised how good the Colavita cartons are. Especially for tomato soups with lots of roasted vegetables.

Pasta salad using some leftover grilled chicken (small dice), skinny asparagus cooked in the boiling water before the pasta (about 2 min), radiatore shape is my favorite for pasta salad.

Black Lime tofu with spinach and quick-pickled red onion over lo mein noodles with red mamey sapote as side/dessert.

Not a sapote fan but had a neighbor who worshiped at the tree around the corner. I gave him all my figs too. But never seen red one. In Vermont?  how d you source it?

They have thicker and quite chewy tsukemen, and a fish based dipping stock. You add more dried mackarel powder and yuzu powder as you go …

To be  honest, it was my first time trying it and, while I didn't dislike it, it didn't impress me.   The town where I live happens to have an incredible greengrocer that gets all sorts of uncommon stuff from all over.

That's my impression of this fruit. It's very popular here in Costa Rica and they sell them on the roadside all the time. The bright hot pink color really catches your eye and you just have to try one. Usually one is enough. Here they are called zapote, which is interesting because that is also the name of a the buzzard.

He also smoked a brisket--150 F for about 4 hours and then I SV'd it for 24 hours at 155F.  SO good and tender.

Last night chicken and asparagus stir fry with store bought frozen egg rolls--the rolls weren't too bad.  I need to make some more to have in the freezer.

I wish I'd known that earlier. I had a bowl with a design on it that I thought would make a nice presentation but threw  it away because I couldn't keep the rice from sticking.

Sadly, Lasagne-Style soup was one of the few Progresso varieties I really did not care for.  At least I shall not starve till morning.

Another delivery dinner from a local restaurant. Not feeling up to cooking today.

Left to right - Stir fried slivered king oyster mushrooms (eryngi) and 蛋饺 (dàn jiǎo), jiaozi type dumplings but with an egg wrapping, stir-fried greens (not sure which type) and finally, chicken and potato curry (Chinese style). Rice underneath.

Much better than it sounds or looks. $3 USD inc delivery.

I envy you for this.  There is nothing comparable around here and if there were the cost would be closer to $30 or more.

Same in our area. We have the choice between bad and mediocre for similar cost to Anna.

I live in a large metropolis and can get really good food delivered BUT yes at quite the cost. What I liked about the meal @liuzhou showed whas the reasonable serving size and the inclusion of 2 vegetables and of course the price.
