What would be the best way to cook centipedes?  I'm thinking like a tiny kabob.

I don't know if any of these are specifically centipedes, but bug eating is a not uncommon street food practice round here and the bugs are indeed skewered then either fried or grilled.

Much as I read and enjoy The Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, The Economist is my newspaper of choice.  This evening I perused a serious report on the difficulties faced by small, artisanal cheese producers in the Congo.  Excellent cheeses are manufactured on small farms in the face of low wholesale prices and ethnic and tribal hatreds (i.e. the militia comes to kill your cows).

The last sentence of the article:  "Not all cheese makers are blessed."

Another Billy Connolly food rant. THe video is 16 minutes long and the food section runs from around the 4min 20 second mark until the end.

Not laugh out loud funny, but it amused me for a second or three. Despite being a Chaplin fan,  I didn't buy it.

a) It was about 4 times the price of all the other peelers.

b) I really don't need yet another peeler.

My daughter would love that. We spent much of her adolescence watching Chaplin and Buster Keaton together. :)

It's actually pretty cool that he remains so iconic a century after he rose to stardom.

For sure. I'm actually in Saint John NB, now, but it's kind of along the way depending which highway you take.

You mean the man who delivered the best speech in movie history (despite being remebered as a silent-movie actor)? I think the Inception theme, by Zimmer, makes it even better.

PS Sorry for the digression.

It's all good.

As it happens, my daughter randomly sent me this comic yesterday, and I thought of the thread here:

(I didn't post it initially because it's not a "food funny," but what the heck...now I have context) :P
