I've never seen canned pudding. Is it actually a can? If so, don't underestimate the hazards.

I'd hate to think what it'd be like if it weren't in the can.

You sure it's still in there?  The can hasn't "blown it's top" so to speak?

I have not seen it for a while.  I once had a can of cream of coconut blow up in my kitchen.  It wasn't pretty.

My first time posting to this topic.

I will never again add an entire deseeded Carolina Reaper pepper to a batch of chili. I had to add more beans and serve with a lot of rice to tone it down and it was still sinus clearing.

And this is coming from someone who regularly adds half a Habanero or more to a breakfast wrap.

Ouch. That's just the pits.

I assume this involved a knife, not sprinkling lime and salt on your hand, then taking a bite.

...after baking a cake for a grandkid's birthday, forget to ask "Are you bringing a knife to slice this with, or am I?"

Which resulted in my stepdaughter and I giving each other "Uh-oh" looks, as grandson and his friends and cousins gathered around the table. I ended up cutting the cake with my Swiss Army knife, which was not quite long enough, so today I need to carefully extricate the remainder of the chocolate icing from inside the handle. I'll note that planning an outdoor birthday party in April was a pretty gutsy call on my stepdaughter's part, and it ended up getting moved forward a day because the weather today is expected to be pretty poor.

Worse than that, @JoNorvelleWalker, is when I've hit the Descale button in place of the steam. Hitting Descale requires unplugging the oven in order to cancel it!

Pressing the Wi-Fi and start buttons stops descaling too.  Ask me how I know.

How can I get baked on curry out of the bottom of my Le Creuset?  (Don't ask.)

Put in some water with a generous amount of baking soda. Let it simmer for it a while and it should come right off.

That gets pretty much anything off!  I used to do that all the time with pans that had a lot of polymerized oil around the slope of the fry pan.

Worked great thank you!  I am embarrassed because a friend gave me the same advice and I did not take her suggestion.

So. I was pressure cooking soaked Rancho Gordo Midnight Black Beans for one minute.

Seemed to be taking a long time to heat up. I could smell the beans but the pot had not come up to pressure. Then I looked around behind the pot and there was black water everywhere!

Seems I had put the pressure lid into the dishwasher, separating the sealing ring. Because it was wet when unpacked from the dishwasher, I did not immediately replace the sealing ring.

Naughty, naughty, naughty!

The counter is now cleaner though.

Did the beans survive?

Yes, @DesertTinker, the beans survived.

I'm wondering about the Instant Pot though. Black water has been leaking from the bottom of it. Does anyone know how long I should leave the IP alone so it can thoroughly dry?

Surely this is something @JoNorvelleWalker knows, ya? 😅

Didn't @Kim Shook or @Shelby disassemble their CSO to fix something? Does @Tropicalsenior tinker with her appliances?

Ideas welcome.

Sorry, I have no knowledge of the Instant Pot.  My pressure cookers are Fissler, and I plan to cook Rancho Gordo beans tonight.

I do sometimes tinker with my appliances however I haven't with my instant pot yet.

That said, being somewhat 'absent-minded' I have twice poured water in my instant pot without the liner being there. The water just went right on through. I gave it some time to dry out and continued to use it. It never has given me a problem.

Liquid that goes through the Instant Pot, either through the lid switch and condensation collector on the back, or through the center as @Tropicalsenior mentioned, actually bypasses all the electrical components and connections. I’d let it dry overnight, then if you’re up for it, the bottom is easy to remove. On both my 8 qt & 3 qt (circa 2017) there’s a single Philips head screw that you remove, then twist the bottom plate a smidge (1/4”?) counterclockwise and lift off. Then you can wash and clean up any residue from the bean liquid. I can do pictures tomorrow if you want.
