 I buy those by the case when on  sale.  I'm not kidding.   Those are the cookie of choice in our Household.

I forgot to mention: I like all Tate's EXCEPT PUMPKIN SPICE. As a  matter of fact, anything to do with pumpkin spice, other than pumpkin pie, can kiss my patoot!

My wife and I actually love the cookies at Chick-fil-A! They're basically an oatmeal/chocolate chip cookie and they are delicious.

I bought a box of the Goya Maria cookies - suggested by Google as an alternative to my beloved Social Teas.  After my first taste I thought, "no way".  But they are growing on me.  They are less dense than the Social Teas, but have a similar bland, low sugar, plainness that I love 😄.

I like them. The perect hardness, low sugar, just right with a warm beverage. In my markets they are stocked in the Jewish/kosher section. Cheap too.

We still go through an embarrassing volume the Grand Galettes in our house (thank you Costco), but got to talking about peanut butter cookies.  I was searching for European brand peanut butter cookies (not wafers, not sandwich) and can't seem to find a commercial brand that makes them.  Are peanut butter cookies not a thing in European baking?

 

I'd love to try a peanut butter sable cookie, but I don't want to bake it.

I will respond for France. Peanut butter is very foreign to us. The closest equivalent is Nutella which we all grew up on and love, but you won’t find peanut butter in French households or in French baked goods. It is a very American ingredient.

Reading this topic, I was reminded of an old fave of mine. I think they were called raisin bars or wafers or something like that. Thin, with raisin puree (?) between two thin layers of cookie. I haven't had one in decades but now I want one.

I recently tried Tate's Bake Shop Chocolate Chip, purchased from Whole Foods.  Not too sweet.  I have to say they're good.

Growing up we had homemade cookies most of the time but once in a while we had Digestive biscuits or even better, chocolate covered digestive biscuits. Once in an even greater while, we got the Peak Freans Assortment; the bourbon cremes were my favourite, but there is nothing fainly burbouny about them - their name comes from a region, not an alcohol! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bourbon_biscuit

This reference brought back strong memories. I remember the American version really well. They were made with raisins and I disliked them. The original UK Garibaldi Biscuits were made with currants and were nicknamed "Squashed Flies." Despite that awful phrase, currants would be more appealing to me than raisins, Maybe.

Sweetie was from Argentina and she introduced me to Havanna alfajores.  Actually, she introduced me to alfajores in general.  Lovely light wafers filled with just the right amount of dulce de leche ... my oh my .. wonderful.

I haven't had cookies in the apartment for months.  I'll eat too many of them  too quickly if they stay around.  What I've taken to doing is to buy a container, grab a couple-three handfuls, and give the rest to the neighbors.  The neighbors like me, but I think they like the cookies more.
