Matzo, beetroot and cheese muffins-things. Cheeses are feta and some smoked Gouda. Nutmeg, pepper.

Peas with butter, dill, scallions, garlic.

Chrain, sour cream.

ha I'd misplaced that word - Chrain. Asked stepmom what word she used 4 horseradish and she'was stumped - then ancient dad shouted "Krehn"

We use 'chazeret' in Hebrew for both plant and spread. But afaik horseradish in English only refers to the plant.

No. It refers to both the plant and the condiment derived from its roots.

Indeed but chrain is a prepared condiment that meets Jewish dietary requirements. So the horseradish in my refrigerator could not honestly be referred to as chrain. Just saying because I found the research interesting.

I knew nothing about chrain until a couple of hours ago.  I was just answering the linguistic question about what horseradish refers to in English.

My use o word has nothing to do with dietary constraints. It is what my Viennese Jewish stepmom, Catholic Croatian dad, and Donau Swabians I grew up with use. Regardless - love  horseradish, This discussion got the old ones reminiscing about their moms crying as they grated the root. Love cultural connections - you guys are cool

Duck pancakes in top left corner. To eat I sliced the slices thinly and ate them like tacos. This half kilo piece lasted 3 different meals.

Forgot this: croissant dough filled with chopped mixed nuts and poppy seeds. Unfortunately, the fine spring weather didn't last but I made the most of it. This is the first food photo made in the garden this year.

Last night and tonight, and tomorrow night will all be the same thing!

Duck Kefta Tagine from The New Mediterranean Table

I've posted it before, it's one of my favorite dishes I've cooked at home so I figure I'll make it 3x a year or so.

Paired with a 2014 HdV Syrah.

Meat balls are not perfectly round, I sous vided these in a zip top bag so they were not as compressed, but still don't stay round :)

I asked Charlie what he wanted for Easter. I gave him a choice of ham, lamb, turkey, roast beef or Cornish hens. He chose Cornish hens. While I was at the store, I also picked up a small lamb roast which I braised with wine and rosemary. I liked the hens better. We also had deviled eggs, rice, creamed corn and strawberries with whipped cream and angel food cake.

Progresso clam chowder, apotheosis of canned soup.  Well, except that it’s too salty.  Dinner was supposed to have been roast duck with tarbais beans, but it is past 3:00am and tomorrow is the same day.

After looking at Easter dinners, I'm craving both @kayb's ham and @Norm Matthews's Cornish Game Hen.

I worked all weekend so I never made a traditional Easter dinner. Might do one on my days off this week.

Last night I grilled a NY steak.
