@gfweb, I would love your breakfast, minus the ketchup.  In fact, now I have a craving for sausage patties.

Moe was craving something sweet this morning so I made him something I hadn't made in a while.

And just to make them a little more decadent served warm with my homemade caramel sauce.

Moe's breakfast this morning was influenced by @PatrickT.
He mentioned yesterday making a grilled cheese sandwich on  his Rye Porridge Sourdough bread.

I can probably count on two hands, with fingers leftover, the number of times I've made Moe a grilled cheese sandwich in almost 50 years.
I've never cared for them so I never think to make them.

If I'm not home he will occasionally make himself just a cheese and onion sandwich.
So this morning I decided to make him a grilled cheese sandwich on yesterday's  Oatmeal bread.

I layered thin sliced red onion between layers of a nice cheddar.

Oh Yes, Please to red onions on grilled cheese. My next sandwich!

I know it is not in the least pretty but it was still tasty. The potatoes were from a restaurant in Hamilton where they cook them beneath roasting chickens. Eggs had a mind of their own this morning and I think I am very lucky that neither one of them ended up yolk down on the floor.

I'm sure the Big Easy will give wonderful flavor, but don't ignored your oven! Putting potatoes beneath oven-roasted chicken (or beef, or pork) is also a wonderful way to cook them.

Last week I was happy to find Longanisa in one of our local small grocers.

Had a few with an egg, blood sausage, roasted tomato and toasted naan breakfast. There's nothing like good Longanisa unfortunately this was nothing like good Longanisa. They tasted like overly sweet ham.

Repurposed in a western sandwich (with a few chopped Thai chilis, peppers and green onion in the eggs). Worked well.

Finally got around to making scotch eggs. My technique needs some work but the results were tasty. Eggs were raised by a friend. Homemade sausage. Wonderfully crisp.

Indirectly I have @blue_dolphinto thank for this. Korean steamed eggs with toasted seaweed and toasted sesame oil, slightly adapted from Eric Kim's Korean American

Made two batches of dough on Monday which went into the fridge for a cold fermentation.
Matt took one out early this morning for pizza.
There was enough for two pizzas.

Headed back from Chattanooga this am, I celebrated the conclusion of a clinical trial I’ve been involved in with a stop at John Currence’s (Southern Foodways Association founder) newest Big Bad Breakfast.

A Jack Benny. From the plate up, hash browns, a heap of city ham, sliced thin and pan-seared, two perfectly poached eggs, and a copious quantity of the richest Hollandaise I have ever had. And to further celebrate the end of the trial, which was for a medication for celiac disease, I leapt off the gluten free wagon with a biscuit.

Coffee was with chicory. OJ was fresh squeezed. That was 10 hours ago, and I am still not hungry.

Had been to the original BBB in Oxford, Miss. He has about a dozen around the southeast, now. This one is located in the Lodge Cast Iron store and museum, which I bypassed in favor of getting home.

The menu, which I forgot to photograph, includes all the breakfast dishes you can think of, as well as shrimp and grits and shrimp and oyster po’boys. And a selection of burgers.

worth a stop, if you’re ever through South Pittsburgh.

The day after Superbowl breakfast: chili, quesadillas, salad with a strange tasting iced tea.

It's been a busy week so my only thought out meals were breakfasts. It's snowing again so a good day to make soup and

make a batch of meals for next week (between snow clearing sessions).

Eggs over potato, mushroom, peppers and tomato hash and some fruit.

Great, now I'm craving egg salad and I have never made it before. Any pointers to help me out? Would capers fit in? This place is a bad influence.
