Spicy cashew butter chicken and spinach with rice and naan.  Not a very attractive curry, but we all thought it was delicious.

@liamsaunt, looks great to me. I would love your curry.

I picked up some thick Lamb Loin Chops at the butcher this week and  presalted them.

Before leaving for work Friday,  I seasoned with fresh minced garlic, fresh rosemary, lots of black pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.

What do you do for this mint sauce?  It looks liek chopped mint in oil, but it's hard to tell from the photo

Dumpling tasting after a delivery from FlyByJing. Way too much food with a planned light miso soup that I always veg over-stuff.

Three varieties of dumplings, six each, was excessive but very good. Perfect freezer dumplings for quick meals.

Not Mott St soup dumplings but good for home needs and better than any we have had frozen.

Dry ice kept them frozen solid.

Chili crisp on the roasted tofu so left it off the dumplings to have them naked. Thin skinned and excellent. Soup dumplings I've made better but still good.

this will be my dinner :

IMG_1409.thumb.jpg.7ceef489cdd0e179f3e221ec027f7570.jpg

its a version of my Turkey Shepards Pie.  this is a cut from the refrigerated

portion , which serves well for several days .

MarketBasket Fz peas and carrots , some butter  and a dollop of extra

mushroom gravy .  from the Jar.

Ive learned a lot , as this is something I can easily make

and easy for me to procure the raw ingredients

this is what its like right out of the CSO :

IMG_1386.thumb.jpg.8fa0fcf60320f874062e318f83a6f2dd.jpg

Ive reinforced my understanding of ground meat :  don't fiddle with it

as it will get tough .  add seasoning to the top

CSO for 12 minutes , then the Flavor Inhancers

which for me are thinly sliced cured meats , or Deli meat

ie Ham .  sometimes Ive added deli sliced Swiss ( that big Block stuff )

and it was interesting .  the flavor for the Adventures comes from

both the seasoning and the layers of deli meat , perhaps w cheese

which is under the Gravy  ( Heintz )  and the refrigerated

mashed potatoes on top .  I get the version that has butter listed

and not the version that has butter and then margarine listed

this works out very well for me . and I love this w canned peas

generic , Diner style.

I take it out of the CSO when the temp is 125 F

it rests and gets to 130 + , understanding its not pasteurized

higher than that , the ground meat gets tough.

Returning from visiting a friend who lives in what could best be described as the German pampa, we crossed Heidelberg. My wife mentioned that we seldomly go there anymore for dinner and that close to where we were driving the Alte Münz restaurant was located and how much she liked the Schnitzel there. Little one got excited upon hearing “Schnitzel” and since we all were a bit hungry we decided for dinner there …

Garden was open with a nice view on the Neckar river …

The Alte Münz is know as the house of 100 Schnitzels, because that’s exactly what they have on the menu …

My wife chose the one with bacon, onions and fried eggs …

Little one opted for caramelized apples, lingonberry jam and gratinated Brie …

And I took the cheese-gratinated mushrooms & cream sauce one (because it is tasty, and as a backup, in case little one didn’t like his choice).

Salads and family style fries came with it, as well as some Heidelberger beer …

We shared, enjoyed and since each portion consisted of two Schnitzel, we took home a generous doggy bag for another day. Little one was very content 🤗 …

This appealed to me no end. Of course it hasn’t made it north of the 49th parallel yet apparently!  The things I’m willing to sacrifice just for ( not quite) universal healthcare.

Mixed salad & fries are standard, but at least the carb can be exchanged (maybe with a small surcharge) for Spätzle, Bratkartoffeln (home Fries) or Rösti

interesting re MG

for me , I get all ingredients

' at speed '  6:30 AM sat or Sun.

by that I mean I don't look around for that and that.

MBasket has Heinz and Bells ( new-is ) jared gravy

I used to augment the Heintz or Bells TG , thinking along the

Turkey Dinner lines.  trying them all  as is  Heintz musroom has

the most flavor de novo.  there are cans of gravy

but I have not moved in that direction .

and I know how to make home gravy , a specialty of mine.

\

so its what s in-between that makes this really quite nice.

Im thinking for two other Flavor Sources i have :

Patak's various pasted curry

and various Thai curry pastries I have w coconut milk

I really am .  and Im keeping  the mashed potatoes

no matter what !

Gave the NinjaSP101 a break for one night. Made Mapo Tofu with eggplant for supper:

                                                                                      1036360013_MapoTofu7623.jpg.5c38993f9e1828e885202d1c78d0f5f4.jpg

Outside temperatures ramping up as did the wind. That hasn't stopped the skeeters, so no BBQ outside.

Put the Ninja back into service and Air Fried ribeye steaks for supper. Seasoned with Montreal Steal Spice and olive oil. Air fry 5 minutes flipped for another 5 minutes. I wanted some sear, so did a 5 minute Air Broil. Need to scale back on the Air Fry time so it will be more on the rare said. Still good tho'

Happy Father's Day to all!

A few from last week:

Ronnie cold smoked a turkey breast and then I SV'd it--like I've done a million times.  Wanted it because we picked our first two garden tomatoes (never super good, but light years better than grocery store ones).  That turkey turned out so dry and I can't fathom why.  Win some/lose some I guess.

ramen noodle salad and fries to go with

The rest of the homemade pasta with my sauce and Italian sausage

Pizza and salad night--Italian sausage, jalapeño, mushroom and onion

And last night for Ronnie since it's Father's Day weekend

Chicken fried venison steaks, gravy, taters, and @JAZ's honey mustard sprouts

My ex used to take clients to the Stinking Rose. Puts everyone on a level stinky field. They tended to really enjoy it. Even desserts and drinks are garlic. https://thestinkingrose.com/bh/

Am reminded of a NY dinner and theater many years ago.    A business associate took me out to dinner and ordered clams casino and a clam pasta, both redolent with garlic.   Then on the the theater where I was seated with their close friend, who passed me breath mints throughout the performance.    Afterwards she told him, "Don't you EVER take out a sweet young thing and stuff her full of garlic before the theater!"

I have serious schnitzel envy. I would have chosen the same one you did. Oh - and your son, is absolutely adorable, not just because he's handsome, but has such a refined palate for someone so young. Hmmm, I wonder why...
