she ordered the toasted club which was quite satisfactory except for the inclusion of American cheese.  Since when does cheese belong on a club sandwich?

Oh, dear Lord, let's not get into the Club sandwich controversy again.  I am still bruised from the last time.  LOL 😉

The Last Wynd

Recipe?  Rum, Maraschino, Chartreuse, how can you go wrong?

Despite taking pains to make this salad,  it was as tasteless as a plate of water. The zucchini was as limp as a dish rag, the tomatoes lacked any flavour and the dressing also fell flat.

Even my garlic toast didn’t measure up.

The lamb chops and mint sauce were excellent.

Despite shortcomings I still over ate.

Here you go.

With its honey The Last Wynd looked a little sweet, however I was enchanted by the Dernier Mot variation.  Hardest part was locating the coup to drink it from.  I used Chartreuse Green V.E.P., Luxardo, and Neisson l'Esprit.  My go to white mai tai rhum is La Favorite Blanc but this called for l'Esprit.

I did not find it sweet. At least not abominably so.  To me it seemed right on between sweet and bitter. YMMV.

That controversy was, and still is, worthy.

American cheese on a club is not a controversy; it's a friggin' travesty.

Never a worry for me - might take a picture in a coup - never drink them without ice.

Cheese is a fine addition to a sandwich. Just not on a club.
