Not what I planned, but life intervened. Still, I enjoyed it.

So are pintails incredibly small ducks or do you have some giant CSO that I've never seen?  Because I'm not sure that I could fit 2 Cornish hens in mine, much less THREE ducks!!!

LOL,  they are small ducks :)

I do love bread.  Served with Charcuterie, cheeses and the last of my Mountain Magic tomatoes which I am hording.  No lack of wine.  Oh, and olives too.

Do you have a link to the recipe for the chicken patties?  They look like something I would enjoy.

Last night, sandwiches.  Banh mi made from some leftover chicken katsu for me

I riffed off this.  if you follow it too closely you will find yourself with something that is impossible to form into patties. At least I did.  I would cut way back on the tofu next time and up the seasoning.

So you found your Shiso leaves!  Excellent!!

If you want to try your hand at growing them (they grow and spread like weeds) happy to share some seeds.

Not quite sure of the difference between shiso and perilla.  Thank you kindly for your offer but I can kill even artificial plants.☹️

Despite its very questionable DNA, this was remarkably tasty and did not seem as odd as it sounds.  Borrowing from Japanese, French and Vietnamese traditions allow me to present:

Onigirazo.  Sliced chicken breast, pate,  lettuce and Dijon mustard.

For those who were intrigued by the little cans of pate that @Kerry Beal brought back from France, this is the one I used:

Being an Anglo-Canadian, you would not believe how many times I turned this can around looking for the English label.

Our dinner tonight was chili, onion rings and watermelon. I could not find any Mexican chroizo to add with the hamburger but did find some Spanish style so used it. I think I liked it better.  The watermelon was not great but it was OK, I guess.   I like to use my Santa Fe railroad dining car plates when I have chili.

While cleaning up the dried goods shelf I found half a pound of chickpeas...

Felafel with cucumber mint yoghurt. Lahmacun (to make a complete meal out of it) with parsley and lemon. Asahi - what else ...
