  2. Not bad. But a warranty is only as good as the company behind it. One would hope that they would be around in 10 years. I worry about having to replace that battery.
  3. Pear, blackberry, raspberry Frangipane tart. i sliced thin rectangles rather than wedges which provided a variety of the fruit in each slice.

    Burrito Techniques

I 'toast' the tortilla in a cast iron / black iron pan . . . pre-heated, toast, get bubbles, flip.... wrap while warm....
  8. I gave food Advent Calendars out this year to close family. One is the Walker's Shortbread to a person who had never had any type of Advent Calendar before that they are truly excited about their cookie a day treat. The other one is kinda pretentious, but not when taking into account the scarcity in the US of the product and the quality of the confection Lakrid by Bulow licorice is a real eye opener, and the flavors are delicious and memorable. I don't like US black licorice candy at all, but I got to try a caramel covered black (salted?) licorice piece out of the calendar and it was phenomenal. I wish Bulow was more available here.

    Burrito Techniques

I'm on my 3rd burrito of the batch I showed at the beginning, and have learned a few things that I'll put into practice next time. First, I don't like these tortillas. They're Mission brand, a widely-distributed and probably well-respected brand, but they're too sweet for me. I think I'll try frying one or both of the remaining burritos, to see if browning the tortilla helps its flavor. (I'm talking about pan frying, or toasting in the convection oven). Next time I'll try a different brand, or try making my own. Second, sour cream in the filling is wasted although I'm bound to add it later. I'm not sure why that is, but the sour cream seems to lose its oomph after storage and reheating. There are other things I don't much like about the filling, but the sausage in question is simply something I need to use up. (Funny how we used to like it.)
  10. Cooktop : 30 " $ 6,999 on web site , but '''' The Impulse Cooktop is eligible for the 30% battery tax credit, reducing the total price of $5,999 to approximately $4,200* after refund '' https://www.quitcarbon.com/help/is-a-120-volt-battery-enabled-induction-stove-a-good-fit-for-my-home no idea is that credit exists for 2026 , or if it is '' at risk '

    Breakfast 2025

Leftover Desi murgh (special chicken curry) enhanced with minced chipotle, fish sauce, Mexican oregano, and crumbled feta. Improved an already tasty dish, imo. When I tried to top with an over-easy egg I learned that our formerly non-stick pan no longer performs that function. 🙄

    Dinner 2025

@liamsaunt everything looks so delicious. that salmon bowl is speaking to me , right now .
  13. I think the firm means ; You have full ' instant ' output @ 70% charge but you will only have 70 % of the total initial energy at that point. thus full output , shorter time .
  14. All of your cheese & snack boards look so good, and you post them casually, as if it doesn’t take a bit of talent and time to put them together well. But they do. Oh my! Your apple galette looks even better than expected. Your apple pie filling looks so rich and delicious. What a treat. Thanks for the time and effort to post. Fingers crossed for successful upcoming hunts!
  15. I feel battery packs on these types of household units possibly problematic . they are a new category . no doubt expensive ( justifiably so ) but should be user replaceable and have a specific time-warranty . I didn't watch the second half of the video continuously , jus skipped around if he mentioned the battery life span , it would be unusual . he did not show it , or what's under the unit. the Cooper oven , when you go to theit site , does show the innards , and shows you the battery but is Mum on details we would like to know . and it does not seem to be user replacible.
  16. I did a quick click through the video and can't find anything about the lifetime of t he battery pack. Does he say?

I would roll bigger. I like a small burrito -- particular for the use-case you referenced, eating-while-driving -- but I agree that a 6" tortilla is going to strain the project of a true wrap.
  19. I assume he's (one of) the founder(s).
  20. I treated myself to a copy of Tamar Adler’s Feast on Your Life: Kitchen Meditations for Every Day (eG-friendly Amazon.com link). It's a small book, with an entry for each day of the year. Some are a paragraph, some just a few words, others a full page or a bit longer. A couple of recipes or cooking descriptions that suffice for one appear but it’s not at all a cookbook. Most of the reviews I’ve read are quite positive. This reviewer (Review: Feast on this) is less so, writing, “Adler’s yearlong food-themed meditation practice felt like an exhaustive stream of consciousness.” I don’t doubt that might be the case if one were to read through in one go, but I’ve enjoyed Adler’s writing in An Everlasting Meal (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) and The Everlasting Meal Cookbook (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) so I expect to enjoy dipping into this one over the course of the year.
  21. very interesting that pitch-guy is certainly enthusiastic.
