Any suggestions for comedic food/cooking oriented movies or shows that are available for streaming on Netflix, Amazon, YouTube and other platforms?  I'm going to be stuck at home for a few days, recovering from a minor inconvenience, and it might be nice to watch one or two such flicks.

Have you ever seen "Julie & Julia"? I don't remember it as being deliberately comical (although it's listed as a Romance and Comedy) but I thought it was quite entertaining. (We discussed the movie here when it came out.)

 

By the way, I just spent some time finding and then re-reading our topic about The Julie/Julia Project when it was underway, and then in the aftermath. Most of the links are broken -- for example, Julie's original blog is gone -- but there's still some interesting discussion. It's hard to remember that food blogging was a new thing back then, isn't it? But she did that project over 20 years ago. And there are a couple of still-living links, one to a fine article by @russ parsons, about the movie and even more about Julia Child. Okay, back to the comedic food/cooking oriented movies or shows...does someone else have recommendations? (What about Pixar's "Ratatouille"?)

Not a movie but a series - I reall enjoyed the 1st, 2nd and 4th seasons of The Bear- season 3 was a bit weird to me - mostly flashbacks but overall I enjoyed the series. Another that I have watched more times than I will admit is Chocolat - Juliette Binoch and Johnny Depp.

Yes, I've seen Julie & Julia, perhaps twice. Also, there was a documentary about the movie and about Julie's blog and cooking, which was also seen.

 

I'm something of a fan of Russ Parsons, and will definitely visit the link. Thank you!

 

Ratatouille was enjoyable. Not a big fan of the cartoon style, but the story was enjoyable.

There are several comedies in the long running Food Movies topic. My own favourite is Eat Drink Man Woman - if you can cope with subtitles. It's in Mandarin.

@JoNorvelleWalker The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was, indeed, an enjoyable film. I remember enjoying it, but now, many years later, I don't remember much about it at all.

There was a contrast and similarity between the extravagant cooking at the rich girl's house and the extravagant cooking at the poor girl's house.  Wonderful reaction from the rich girl's mother when she sees what's happened to her pristine kitchen.

The Bear is quite good but I would not call it a  "comedy", especially not the first two seasons which are rather intense!

Not a comdedy in the true sense of the word but there are lots of funny bits in it - particularily the scenes with Maddy Mastheson and his cousin. Jamie Lee curtis is great although her character is a bit dark, there are still comedic moments.
