I'm so glad the answer was "no" since you came up with a much better-looking option next door! I'm intrigued by the label on the Cass beer bottle. It looks as though it's upside down, but there's printing on it that's right side up also. Can you shed more light on what's going on there?

Dinner last night was so good. 

 

The first tomato from the garden usually isn't very good.  This one was spectacular.  I could have eaten like 20 more slices.  Along with that new potatoes and creamed peas--something I don't make too often.  Awfully good with our potatoes.  And, the first okra from the garden which I screwed up and didn't fry it as crispy as I like it.  Oh well, there will hopefully be more to come.  Oh and I SV'd some domestic turkey wings and then Ronnie smoked them.  Very summery meal.

As I'd been making pickles all day, I didn't want to cook, so we tried a new Asian takeout place. Chinese-American standards, as well as some Thai and Korean. I had "chicken bulgogi." Very good, tiny strips of chicken sauteed in bulgogi sauce that was appropriately sweet with more than a touch of heat to it. Steamed rice. Child A had sweet and sour chicken and pronounced it very light and fresh. We may have found a keeper. No delivery, but it's convenient to pick up.

It's 11pm here in the land of the rice eaters and I just got home from an epic dinner - with a twist.  I'm exhausted, so I'll post the many details tomorrow, but here's a teaser.

It is Blueberries indeed....... that's what you get when people like Heston Blueintheface serves Bacon and Eggs Ice cream. The door gates were open for others to dish out dishes like Buttermilk Chicken with Blueberries...........

 

I even personally came up with sarnies of Bacon with smooth Peanut Butter, Nutella and Maple Syrup. Want a pic?

 

Hey, don't forget our Scotland came up with the Fried Mars Bars  🤣

Charlie and I went to to the store to get an idea for what to have for dinner. I looked for a while at a pork shoulder roast but decided I didn't want to spend a lot of time prepping it for dinner tonight so we settled on strip steaks. Charlie said he'd rather have mac & cheese than potatoes. He made those. I just grilled the steaks. They were very tender.

Are those WASA biscuits? Love canned smoked oysters. Those were always a Sat. night treat for my F-i-l and us...

Are these winkles?  They are bigger than the ones our local Superstore is bringing in...I've only had them boiled in brine in England, or in black bean garlic sauce...Hubby considers them a waste of energy!😀

To be honest, I did not even notice that before ...

Seems like a special edition for the World Cup. I would ask, but as a German I am too proud to discuss the World Cup with a Korean at the moment 😉

An early trip to the clam beds, yesterday morning, paid off in spades last night, with linguine and clam sauce with garlic bread. Raking in clams, then standing over the counter chopping garlic and herbs isn't great for your back, but when it's time to sit down for dinner, it all seems worthwhile.

Usually, I'm on my own, but Deb came along with me yesterday and took this pic of yours truly heading out to my favorite spot. She would point to areas that she thought I should check, and was calling herself the "Clam Whisperer", by the time we returned to the car.

Yesterday, The average clam was pretty big, which is usually a sign that you have been in an area that has not been worked in quite a while. There were just enough small ones to top off the plates with whole tender clams.

I believe they are. I had repackaged them so I’m not a hundred percent sure but I buy only two kinds of crispbread. Wasa is one of them.
