DHL just delivered mine. The package looks as though it had circumnavigated the globe several times. I didn't even have to bother opening it, but the pan was there.

@HungryChris mine arrived about 30 minutes ago.  I had the same packaging, also had tape stating DHL had repacked.  There are some scratches in the bottom of the pan.  I wonder if this is normal or if It will affect use.  E03404E3-D83E-4835-B326-46BC4F074371.thumb.jpeg.6ed2b127454d519eeb835caf782713b2.jpeg

Now that DHL has made contact they have become my most constant correspondent.  I think today's second email was to notify me that my package has cleared customs in Miami.  I particularly enjoyed this line:  "Description: FLYING PAN STEAL"  😉

I’ve decided the scratches are just scratches in the oil coating the pan, just need to clean it up and season it.

I have similar scratches in mine, but have reached the same conclusion.

personally , if there are small scratches ,

 

Id work them over w some wet / dry sandpaper

 

might not be necessary

 

but thats my plan

 

I didn't do it on my previous 3 DARTO . one pan had a few scretches

 

then after seasoning I knew the scratch was there

 

so srtipped it and sanded it and feel better about it

 

id start w 220 , and go up until smooth.

 

but that's just me

 

might not make any difference at all after a bazillion coats of seasoning.
