Current sales, deals, and bargains (Part 2)

I get mine from Zwilling dot com for less.  Slight Imperfections are often really cheap too.

Amazon has a lot of markups for me so free shipping isn't isn't really free either.  I often buy things locally for less than what Amazon charges for an identical order.

I couldn't find what I wanted so called up LLBean and the person told me that items not in stock wouldn't show up on website inventory. She knew I wanted the 15% off, so she went ahead and backordered them for me. I had Bean Bucks, so the package ended up costing me zero.

What a deal!

I just got an email from A4Box.com celebrating their 5th anniversary. The first 500 customers can get an A4 Induction Box (color of your choice) for FREE using the coupon code ANNIVERSARY5. I just ordered mine, and only have to pay shipping ($40). Our dear departed @Anna N and our dear, still-with-us friend @Kerry Beal had a lot of fun playing with theirs, back in the day!

There's apparently another sale going on right now. If I can figure out how to get to it, I'll also order the extra trays and I'll report back here. (Edited to add: they're already sold out. That's why I couldn't load them into my cart.)

Go to AFourBox.com if you're interested in this. Hurry!

@Smithy

I went to your ref not long after your initial post

but got to a site that was not A4Box.

I got to the site now , but I don't see anything about the deal .

so for fun , went to the check-out page

and used the ANNIVERSARY5 in the coupon box

and indeed the unit is still free   w 39.00 shipping .

did not get it as I doubt it would be useful for me

but the offer still stands when you use the coupon @ check out .

good luck all !

Anna's A4 box is sitting in the kitchen here at work, waiting to someone to recognize how wonderful it is and take it home.

Wish I were closer.

I can probably get one of my SILs to pick it up when they visit  their mom at  The Village Tansley of Woods in Burlington.    They go every week.  Would you not be far from there?  Or, I'll happily pay for shipping.  I tried to order one but they don't seem to accept Canada.

I'm in Aldershot. Where are they coming from?

One is in Freelton, the other in Etobicoke.  My sister is in Jarvis so that could be in the mix.  I just read all 10 pages of the A4 Box thread.

Give them my phone number and I'll get it to them.

Other than the inserts, how does this appliance differ from other countertop roasters, e.g., the ubiquitous Nesco?

It works on induction.

Sure, how is this advantageous?

I hear in some circles that induction is more energy-efficient than standard heating coils.

But seriously, after reading this topic on the A4 Box Induction Cooker I simply liked the look and idea of a small, portable cooker. At its usual price I couldn't see spending the money. For 40 bucks I'm eager to try out a new toy!

And I crumbled, they’re still available for shipping cost only. I’m a bit surprised, I thought by waiting I might be saved from acquiring one. Well now our “house/kitchen” Christmas gift is taken care of.

if this included the ' meat-baller '  insert , Id be interested.

meatballs are the PITA part of MB and Spaghetti .

MB's have to be round  , or they are MP's   :  Meat Pucks .

never seen MP's on a menu.

Part of the 3-pack of inserts that's already sold out includes a small ball thingie, but I suspect you still have to shape the meatballs themselves. I agree that part's a PITA. I made meatballs once. For my aging and ailing father-in-law. I haven't wanted to do it again.

I agree with that.  The aesthetic smacks of the retro Smeg refrigerators.

As for the efficiency uptick, I'm less sure.  Someone should compare this to a small Nesco calrod unit, run through a Kill-a-Watt.

If the conductivity of the enclosure could be upped, induction holds promise for culinary ovens.
