There's got to be more to this story, but I'm not sure I want rattling around my brain.

Gene Weingarten, writing in the Washington Post about online news stories and the accompanying readers' comments: "I basically like 'comments,' though they can seem a little jarring: spit-flecked rants that are appended to a product that at least tries for a measure of objectivity and dignity. It's as though when you order a sirloin steak, it comes with a side of maggots."

Is it salvageable?

Well, the display is working again after having dried out overnight.  I'll test it before I need to use it again.

I will never again leave the lid off of my jar of natural "just peanuts"-style peanut butter overnight.

...

...

...

...which, in turn, means I should never again wake up to find a very despondent and fatigued mouse trying to keep its head above the oily surface.

I shall never again...

A bit of backstory:  for weeks I have suffered a plague of fruit flies.  Not even in the old days of end-of-tomato season have I seen the like.  The flies are biblical.  I've been searching for a source without success.

Today a phone company technician came.  He needed access to the corner of my bedroom closet that has not seen the light of day in years.

I shall never again.
