Id suggest the unlikely event that these were PhotoShopped .

No, not photoshopped. Just very evenly roasted …

No, these are correct, according to my husband, who has the patience of Job in carefully watching and turning a marshmallow to it caramel perfection.    Me?    I scorch, to his disdain and disgust.

I thought the same but the child must have patience to get them so evenly caramel brown perfect.

The big “child”, yes 🤗. Little one (and his mother, for that matter) make the scorched, semi-soft ones and are equally happy with it.

I'm tofu challenged. I have a block at the moment pressed and now marinating. Sometimes good, sometimes meh. (as long as it not the star of the dish). I'm thinking of roasting low and slow in the oven. (adding to a noodle bowl)

Your plating is in focus. I know you often have trouble with your phone or camera. Looks great!

Thank you!  I actually just got a new phone and I'm learning the camera on it.

Tofu can have a learning curve to it, but I think it's worth the effort. I actually prefer it deep fried or air fried, though marinated-and-baked is another favourite method.    Soft tofu can also make a good sauce base.

Ramen bowl. Tofu came out fine. Some rainy day I'll take the time to try a few methods side by side.

Made these for a casual, for want of a better word, tapas serving style dinner for six.

Scallop onigirazu: Ingredients: nori, seasoned Nishiki rice, scallops, radish greens, chives, coriander, red and green chilis, ginger, garlic and lime juice.

Tested one before inflicting them on others. They were well recieved.

Sorry Jo, I must have neglected to mention that as part of the move I decided to treat myself to a new BBQ.

New home = new (fancy) barbecue.

Congrats on both counts, hope it's going great for you and thew missus.

I served with a shrimp and swordfish chowder for our meal. (corn, leek, roasted garlic blendered base broth I made last Fall). Prosciutto crisps.

Can you elaborate on that base broth ?  I have limited kitchen time due to stepmother until she departs. I'd like some broths to freeze for quick soups. Freezer space limited too but I can scale down.  Broth I can make during the time I sneak in.

Your garden is so far ahead of us. I have lots of salads and peas and that is about it. Lots of herbs. All squash and zucchini about to explode but no flowers yet. We need a bit more heat for everything to kick in. Patience.

Just took delivery of my last CSA farm share this morning. (canceling until next Fall). Boatload of produce.

Friday we had PatLefreida short rib burgers. 3oz is perfect for an English muffin. Thick slice red onion and frozen cherry tomatoes on the back burner covered, low and slow for an hour. Nice jammy tomatoes and some caramelizing on the onions pan side down.

Loaded potato salad. Similar to this recipe from Eater, no mayo potato salad

A pajeon-esk solution to leftover spring onion, carrot and cabagge. Plus half a can of mackerel, some frozen squid and SV sirloin. Not half bad …

Yellow curry chicken.  The yellow curry was in a jar from Costco and it was way too spicy for us.  Normally I'd cut it with some coconut (or other lactose free) milk and add some sugar to moderate the heat.  But no milk was on hand.  But I did have some lactose-free vanilla ice cream so that did the trick!  Served over left-over Basmati rice and with steamed bok choy.
