My son is not yet a dad, but he seems to have inherited my proclivity for dad jokes. On FB a couple of days ago he posed the question: "If I have shawarma for lunch, does that make it Halal-oween?"

There's a bakery here in Costa Rica that actually bakes bread in the shape of crocodiles and turtles. I have to admit they're not quite this elaborate.

In Australia, it's not just the venomous animals (and sharks and crocs) that are out to get you. Yes, this is a food-related story.
