Been looking for a Chamber Vac sealer for a while but they are all so big and clunky -

Then this appeared.

Surprised I have not seen it on the boards yet - curious if anyone has any experience with it (or who's going to take the plunge!?)

https://anovaculinary.com/en-ca/products/anova-precision-chamber-vacuum-sealer?utm_placement=Facebook_Desktop_Feed&meta_aud=new&utm_id=6633334716240_v2_s02&campaign_id=6633334716240&ad_id=6634706825640

I have one. Posted about it on eGullet… will see if I can find the posts… think they are in the chamber vacuum topic. I like mine a lot.

Here you go… has its own topic.

I placed a phone order with Z's yesterday about 11:30 a.m; it's out for delivery via UPS today. Z's customer service has always been outstanding, and granted I live just on the other side of the state, but it's still impressive.

PRICE QUANTITY DESCRIPTION OF DELICIOUSNESS
$25.00 each 1 Vecchia Dispensa's 30 Year Anniversary Balsamic Vinegar (included from an earlier order that I was planning to pick up in person)

$12.00 each 5 Nueske's Applewood Smoked Bacon

$20.00 1 lb Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese selected by Cravero

$20.00 1 lb Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese selected by Cravero

$19.50 1 lb Brabander Goat Gouda Cheese selected by L'amuse

$19.50 1 lb Brabander Goat Gouda Cheese selected by L'amuse

$19.00 1 lb Comté Cheese from Fort St. Antoine

$7.25 .5 lbs Piave Vecchio Cheese from Northern Italy

$11.50 .5 lbs Raw Milk Manchego selected for Essex St. Cheese

Zingerman's staff told me that one can order a bunch of their cheeses during the sale, but ask for it/them to be delivered at different times of the year. I think you don't pay til it's shipped, and you still get the sale price. Though check with customer service that I have that idea right.

I know you can do the sale price thing, but I don't know if their flat rate shipping charge applies only once or for each delivery. I'd guess the latter, but as you said, it's a good idea to check.

I got a Anova email .  50 % off selected items

however , clicking on the links got me to bizzare address that were blocked by my spam blocker

so , beware if you get that email , and get to one of those addresses .

not so long ago there was a similar unbelievable sale on a similar popular item

phishing for credit card info.

Does one generally need a clad pot to make stock

Need?  No.  Is it preferable?  I think so.

I think it's helpful when looking at All-Clad to understand it's not all clad...

I don't understand why it's preferable if all I'm doing is, say, boiling a couple of lobsters.  Restaurants use plenty of pans which are not cladded.

The All-Clad stockpot does appear to have an aluminum base, making for good enough heat distribution for its usual purpose.
