Another soup as we are having a run of cooler rainy weather.

Bought pork dumplings with a quickly made broth with Asian flavours… meaning some coriander, fresh ginger, lemon grass paste, soy sauce and chicken stock all simmered for about only half an hour.

@Maison Rustique mentioned her fear that she sounded like a broken record in the Dinner topic. I'll second that, for myself, in the Lunch topic. But I'm going to go right ahead and celebrate this seasonal joy anyway.

Rotisserie chicken, a delectable slice doled out from my final-of-the-season farmers' market tomato, pickle, lettuce, all on toasted sourdough bread. All that stack made it a bit of a Dagwood sandwich, and I had to eat it carefully as it dripped over my plate, but oh what a treat! I'll be sorry when that tomato is gone.

Brown shrimp and sausage and remove. Saute sliced shallot and jalapeno with minced ginger and garlic, cumin seed, and black pepper. Deglaze with chicken stock, then wilt equal parts spinach and cilantro with a splash of half-and-half. Return shrimp and sausage to the pan and finish with thyme, Mexican oregano, garam masala, and crumbled feta.

I am told this smelled good from the basement, which perhaps is a subject for the "kitchen hood" thread. 😆
