BeefCurry, avocado, purple sweet potatoes. Pop will like this so it is going on the family menu when I visit. No coconut. More Japanese. But no roux. Can't use flour so used powdered goat milk. 3 recipes got me where it will please all.

A take on Youvarlakia Avgolemono - Vegetarian meatballs and stuffed artichoke hearts. Feta, oregano, dill, onion in the mix. Avgolemono sauce with eggs, lemon juice and zest, olive oil, oregano, wine, bay leaves. Also a few capers.

Spanakorizo - rice with spinach, dill, coriander seeds, lemon and peas.

Along with tomatoes, feta and ouzo.

Shrimp and baby cod cakes. Smoked hatch chili/tomatillo sauce.

*testing the best way to heat up cod and salmon cakes for a lunch or appetizer. Butter and avocado oil, cast iron stovetop, then into the oven a bit at 350.

Copied @liamsaunt, and made Moe a pasta with oven finished halibut.

709617041_PastawithhalibutMarch27th2022.thumb.jpg.86b18d82221727442cee8e00062a069f.jpg

Didn't have cherry tomatoes, so drained a can of plum tomatoes and cut in half.

Used Kalamata olives sauted in olive oil with garlic, the tomatoes, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper and  lemon zest.

Halibut seared and then finished in hot oven.

Little one requested pica pica, which is the Catalan equivalent of tapas. That is mostly his way of saying he wants to eat octopus …

Shrimps with salt & garlic (ran out of parsley)

Patatas bravas (plus the sauce, of course)

Albondigas (meatballs) and a curious truffled salami covered with Parmigiano, that I found recently at the supermarket …

One octopus arm. My wife got one slice. I wasn’t fast enough 🙄. Omelette in the background …

Plus olives, fuet, cheeses, mussels in escabeche, bread, oil, tomatoes. Sangria for my wife and a beer for me. Happy family 🤗

Apparently you need to make more than one arm 😬

@Duvel on the octopus - in Germany areyou buying it raw or? Here I sometimes indulge in perfectly cooked meaty arms from the Japanese market as the baby octo are the most commonly available raw and don't scratch my itch.

I buy frozen cooked large octopus arms from a fish wholesaler. They are excellent, just need thawing in slightly salted water …

Semi-mini cassoulet, using Rancho Gordo's Alubia blanca beans, cooked the day before. They get so nice and creamy when recooked in the oven.  Sausage and house-made duck confit in the cassoulet.  Lots of bread crumbs only made it better.

Made a lovely & sensible salad - fresh greens, avocado, goat cheese, pine nuts, balsamic cream …

Two hours and one Sake Martini later I boiled up some commercial pork Pelmeni, dressed them in the usual kewpie/chili crisp/Sichuan peppercorn oil combo and had then while watching Peaky Blinders … 🤗

Viet grilled pork tenderloin, noodles, lettuce, cilantro, mint, nuoc cham.    A version of "roll your own".

vis a vis the previous thread, I find myself increasingly unable to accept the sugar levels in everyday foods    Bread, sauces and condiments, drinks including wines,  and eschew desserts.    Cheese, please, when forced to order one.

I seriously have  “ugly plate syndrome” when I look at what you have for dinner vs. what I turn out. You cook gorgeous meals.

Oh, well, mine taste fine, I guess.

I have that all the time. Mine never look good enough to photograph, to me, but I post them anyway and hope that people will excuse them because I'm a little old lady.

They aren't often very photogenic but I don't get any complaints.

Your food, however, is always drool worthy.

Pulled the dough made yesterday for pizza out of the fridge at 12:00 and left it out on the counter to warm up and rise.
Wasn't ready to use until almost 4:30.
Decided to bake today's pizza in the Ooni.
I haven't used the Ooni oven since a couple of months before the accident.
Still not that enamoured with the Ooni. But was happy with tonight's Italian Sausage and Mushroom Pizza.
