Wow.  I don't get out much these days.  They really short you on ketchup.

I prefer seafood without ketchup. I don't order it during ketchup season.

Y'all started it... :raz:

perused the menu - awaiting my first dish - the duck and pork terrine

I would have asked them what part of Vancouver Island their sea salt comes from. 🙂

And if it has a “best before date“ and what that might be.

Ah yes - I guess that's what happens when you write a menu without thinking it through.

Actually the salt IS coming from Vancouver Island - Vancouver Island Sea Salt. Learn something new every day.

I wasn't being snarky, I really wanted to know where it was from! There are a couple of sea salt producers here on the Island (scroll down to see a few). I usually buy from Clever Crow Farm which is very near here. It's a very small operation, Lia slowly simmers the salt water on the stove in her farm store and has a drying room for the salt (and herbs) on the lower level.

Thanks for checking on the source!   🙂

I did see some green beans - not eaten!

I am not laughing because I know she loves green beans so I’m wondering what it was about these ones that she decided not to eat them! Mind you after that breakfast it’s a miracle that she had any room for lunch. I don’t think I could’ve managed another meal.

I was still pretty stuffed from breakfast and I had only eaten part of that!

Does VIA include meals as part of a regular service, is it limited to those riding in first class, or do you have to buy separately like you do on most airlines anymore?

I believe you can buy meals in steerage.

If that's what I paid for, I think I'd do better off packing a cooler with my own lunch!
