its odd people prefer brown eggs w the price difference being what

A lot of people are still laboring under the  mistaken idea that brown eggs are more nutritious. I know that that is the prevailing thought in Costa Rica. White eggs are practically non-existent here and when you do find them they cost about a quarter more than brown eggs. This is what the USDA has to say about it.

I remember an advertising jingle that was local in nature (local being New England I think) from my childhood that went:

🎵  Brown eggs are local eggs, and local eggs are fresh! 🎵

so  if you're a certain age to remember that little song, maybe the subliminal message makes you reach for the brown eggs!

I mainly use duck eggs and must confess I prefer to buy those with the green-tinged shells, even though I know there is no real advantage to doing so. They are the same price as the white ones.

Now emu eggs are a different story! They are beautiful.

A cache of eggs was found in a cave in the Philippines that had been stored there during World War II.

If true, these would not be fresh eggs.  Fresh would have transpired their water through their shells, leaving only dry residue inside.  And fresh would have spoiled long before that.

Perhaps the story is about eggs that were alkalized and sealed in clay or ash, the so-called Century Eggs.  That might be possible.

2 dozen brown omega 3 eggs from costco were nearly$9 this week.

(Not my normal eggs, I typically buy plain white, standard cage living hen eggs but there were none to be had. My parents are selling their farm eggs for $4/ dozen despite my telling them to raise their prices for years!)

It seems the egg shortage is in the North East.

'Omega 3 ' eggs are an interesting marketing angle.

Id look into what exactly the ' omega 3 ' brand is selling you.

once eggs become plentiful again , and you can compair the price of O3 and non O3 .

the chickens get a little flax seed , for the O3 claim.

and that O3 is only the first precursor of a 3 part reaction to get the O3 you may be interested in.

I glanced at the refrigerated case with eggs at Shop Rite yesterday, there appeared to be plenty. As I never purchase eggs, can’t comment on the pricing, only supply. Store brand large white eggs $6.69/dozen.

I eat enough wild fish that the omega 3 has never been a selling point.  The selling point was 2 dozen eggs.  The only"regular" eggs were in 5 dozen flats and those weren't coming home with me.
