Mine arrived today too! 

 

 

It's a little more blue than this photo suggests, but not quite the light of a silvery blue moon that I was expecting. Would I have liked sage green better after all? Don't know. Don't really care.

 

I am pleased at the packaging. Someone had fun with their marketing. This greeted me on the second box flap as I opened the box:

 

 

 

 

The slogan is repeated on the package tray holding accessories, which I hadn't expected:

 

 

Two trays are included: one with a grill, one flatter. The inductive surface is in the middle of the A4 box itself, at the right of this photo:

 

 

It's going to be fun playing with this. Even if the color isn't as pretty as I'd expected. 🙂

@Smithy thank you for taking all the packaging photos. I was planning to do that but did not have time today. I agree with you, I also got the A4 in blue and I thought it would be more blue. I actually looked at mine a few times in different lighting to verify that it was blue -- for a while I wondered if the sent the white cooker instead of the blue. They did a brilliant job on the packaging - lots of custom fit padding and bags - great design. I plan to start playing with it this weekend -- breakfast on the flat top.

Beyond this I think I'll need to post in the A4 Induction Box Cooker topic, but I'll post this little teaser. I was planning to have a ham and cheese grilled sandwich tonight. Normally I'd have done it in my $8 panini press. But the newly-arrived A4 Box was looking at me, so I had to try it instead.

 

 

1. I do think this gets hotter than my panini press. That might have to do with this A4 Box being new out of the box vs. my Cuisinart being used (for $8!) but I really don't know.

2. Similarly, this heated really quickly compared to the panini press. See above comment.

3. Obviously, the panini press wouldn't have required the sandwich to be flipped. This did.

4. Still, this did an admirable job on my sandwich. I'm happy.

 

Oh, and incidentally: the inductive surface, which gets hot, is built into the base plate. Maybe an induction stove or induction plate doesn't get hot to the touch, but this does.

Perhaps you may recall my recent lament about the demise of my 1.5 quart All-Clad D5 saucepan due to my carelessness.  Well, its replacement has arrived from Williams-Sonoma, and I'm very happy.  I was surprised by how much I missed that pot and how happy I am to have the replacement.

 

Fun comes in many ways, and one fun thing is saving money.  I saved $50.00 buying this pot frm W-S compared to All-Clad and Amazon.   This is the second time I saved big when buying All-Clad from W-S.  The first time I saved $200.00 on an 8 quart D5 stock/soup pot, which serves admirably as a Dutch oven, its shape allowing it to easily fit into my regular oven.

I already have a couple of these coconut shell bowls and love them. Saw they were advertising a bowl and coconut spoon combo and had to bite. just the thing for my morning congee!

Or maybe not. They are all marked sold out!

 

But I'm in the wrong business. The bowl and spoon set I bought cost $3.50 USD! for two; that company was charging $35 for two sets reduced from almost $60!

you just screw it into an existing standard fixture .  motion set w switch under dome 2 m  5 m  10 .  

 

in closet // pantry in kitchen   would work well in any closet w light fixture 

 

On Monday :

 

a new one of these ,  up to date , more potential lines .  a good deal of these circuits no longer work.

as I understand i , there are breakers , 15 amp and 20 amp

 

what I learned is that each circuit , ie one 15 amp breaker means 15 amp max , not 15 amp 

 

taken out of the 200 amp max for the whole board.

 

you can have more than 200amp  if you add up all the sub circuits , 

 

as its rare for each sub circuit to draw the full load .  and each circuit is not 15 am , but maybe 12 or 13  actual.

I understand its not that expensive , less than an arm and a leg .

 

maybe 1/2 leg.

They save money by not using a switch and make it part of the name thereby seeming to be a feature rather  than a limitation.

I'm generally so late to the home automation party that, by the time I get there, it's moved. But I was drug into installing security cameras, and chose Wyze on the recommendation of a techie friend.

 

Anyway, as an early Xmas present to myself, I bought Wyze's outdoor smart plug.  It's a pigtail, really, with two receptacles that can be switched by the Wyze app or automations.

 

I bit because I have a corner outlet that powers a string of cafe lights, and in freezing weather, a hummingbird feeder heater.  If this works as advertised, I can automate the lights and power the heater remotely.  Hummers will be happy.
