that being said is true. .... but of the group, RR has a very interesting history. after all, Escaping Buffalo is in itself a feat.

and she is said by friends of mine who know her to be a level headed all around nice person.

now TE is a different story. ... and WP is a massive fan of Meals on Wheels ....

I thought RR escaped from Albany?

English is a shill (as are some of the others). WP deserves all the kudos he gets...the man was a groundbreaking chef on many fronts.

I thought of that re Albany, but Buffalo might be the original place then to Albany. or not. anyway RR did help a lot of people cook better.

and WP used to have a "invitational" charity outdoor BIg Deal and the proceeeds went to MoW

he was the first TV chef that showed me how to do Rack of Lamb whole and in double chops perfectly.

Yum.

I must say that I dont really watch many of those...

The only one on that list I watch is Guy Fieri (Im sure y'all are groaning)DD&D isnt his cooking but others and you do get a really great

swath of ideas from the places he visits so I love it. I watch a lot of cooking shows on CreateTV.

In my mind The Food Network has become a cookie factory for cookie cutter chefs like American Idol and I hate it.

Its manufacturing Food Personalities who will shill for Corps

BIG BUCKS!

RE RR's earnings: If I could get people to shell out $20.00 for a garbage collecting bowl I'd probably be very successful to. At home I simply keep the garbage can close by; in the volunteer kitchens I use a chipwood bowl from a thrift store that I spent $1.50 on because the shape was what I wanted and the garbage cans are not next to the prep areas.

When I saw that item promoted somewhere I laughed enough to wet my pants. I use whatever bowl is handy and of the appropriate size, then dump the stuff in the compost bin.

According to Celebrity Net Worth RR makes the most, then Wolfgang, then Ramsey

I use the Hefty Scrap Bags

They are public individuals and they have corporations

They are brands

Heres Paulas NetWorth page

Unless you can buy shares of traded stocks in their corporations, they are not public companies and they do not have to disclose their finances.

I suspect Martha Steward makes more than many of them.

When you put it that way, yes.

Martha Stewart = $650 Million and I love her the most. Pot smoking, Rap loving, funny approachable Martha

Ill bet Rachael Rays kitchen floor is gross with all that salt stuck to it.

Interesting that Todd English is on this list. Locally, he can't manage to pay the rent on his Boston restaurants:

Todd English sued for $1m over unpaid rent -- Kingfish Hall, now closed

Todd English sued for back rent-- Olives, his first restaurant. After reopening a year ago, it was just recently closed and all assets seized.

Ina Garten is the real unsung genius. She got people to pay $15 a pound for potato salad in the 80s. That's some kind of marketing!

I like Ramsay. He's always enthusiastic and has a great work ethic.

He does seem to have a favorite 4-letter word I could do without hearing all the time. I enjoyed seeing him bring common sense and insight into the situations presented in Kitchen Nightmares. However, I've been without my DirectTV for about a year and have no idea what goes on these days.

I get a bit tired of the constant swearing, too. He's still doing the Kitchen Nightmares show in the US, Masterchef with Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich (no cussing). He also did a short series for the BBC where he went to one of the prisons in the UK and taught some toughs to cook. They baked a number of breads and tea cakes and sold them in a storefront in the village. He had them come up with a name, a business concept, showed them how to do pricing, how to treat customers, to make proper change and generally get them used to what it is like to make an honest living. There was some pushback from the warden about the program and the filming and a knife went missing during one cooking session causing a lockdown. It was interesting to see the project from Ramsay's POV (his brother is a heroin addict and has been imprisoned) and the frustrations and triumphs of the prisoners. The acceptance of many of the villagers as well a the distaste many of them had for the cons was also interesting.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the whole series. Perhaps someone else had a chance to see it all and can fill in the rest.

Actually, as I recall, the knife had never gone missing at all. One warden just couldn't count past 10.

Ramsey was, justifiably, furious.

The US Kitchen Nightmares episodes can be viewed online at the fox site. You might want to watch the Amy's Baking Company episode if you haven't seen it. I think that episode is also on Youtube in three chunks. It was a bit of an event here in Phoenix.... And, I was (un)lucky enough to get a reservation and eat a meal, sort of, at the grand re-opening.
