The Revere Group packs candy boxes in groups of 25 or 50.

but they do require a minimum purchase...which might put the opening poster in the same situation as with u-line

Oh, good to know. I've only bought a few things from them, both times stopping by their showroom in Seattle, they are probably a little more lenient when you are there in person paying cash or just looking for samples.

Hello all,

I found another place that will sell "Candy Tuck Top Boxes" for only $0.17 USD each in small quantities of 100 and is in LA, close to me so shipping will be relatively inexpensive. They are at papermart.com. They do not send out samples but they are really cheap so even the boxes don't work out I won't be out that much $$$

Thanks for all the info and replies! Once I get an order I will post a reply on quality, ease of assembly, etc.

Happy Chocolating!

I have seen Nakazawa (available in the U.S. from Unger Co. in Cleveland) mentioned as a good source for boxes for chocolates, and they certainly have some very nice looking ones. Unfortunately 200 appears to be the smallest lot in which these are sold, and I am looking for smaller amounts of various sizes. Can anyone suggest other sources?

There are lots of places that sell smaller quantities: US Box, Box and WRap, Bags and Bows, Nashville Wrapes, Glerup Revere.

As Cassie says, lots of places that sell smaller quantities. Unfortunately, the price per box seems to go way up when you purchase in small quantities. Purchasing from package nakazawa seems to be the first price break point, next price break point appears to be when you by a few thousand and go the custom set up box route.

Here are a few other places that sell smaller quantities:

Can I get some personal recommendations for companies from people who have had chocolate bar boxes printed?  Google keeps pointing me to either companies that don't make boxes, or images of other companies chocolates.

I'm using a stock box right now but I don't like the window it has.  It's  4.75x2x3/8in.

Here's a link:

How about simply putting a label over the window?  Labels are much less expensive than custom boxes.

I think custom is worth it above 5-10k units.  There are usually price breaks the higher you go but you have to factor in your custom printing and cutting dies.  Digital printing can be inexpensive for labels and stickers in standard sizes but a cutting die can cost several hundred dollars.

Hi everybody!

I currently sell my chocolates in a beautiful box from Papermart.

My ideal box is the one that Susanna Yoon uses from Stick with me Sweets. I love it and since my bonbons are all  the same shape and size it would be ideal.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Attached is a picture of the box.

Thanks in advance.

Kerry is right...that is a custom made box...look for a company that does "thermoforming" or "vacuumforming".

You need to make a positive mold first (usually CNC milled from plastic, wood or aluminum)....that's the largest upfront cost.

After that you need to make rather large quantities ....then the price is not too bad though...probably at least several thousand pieces to make it worth it

Thanks for the information! I am not in the position to order thousands of boxes yet, so I guess I will consider it in the future.

I went through this process and searched far and wide for manufacturers that would sell small quantities of custom boxes. There is one that would make them, but (it turned out) not very well, so I would not recommend them. Later, however, I found Brimar Packaging in Ohio, which will sell 500 boxes. You will, of course, pay considerably more for that quantity, and (to torture the customer, I assume) they always provide the pricing for 1,000 boxes as well. But their work is excellent, and their website provides images of their products. They can include inserts but might require larger quantities for that.  I get just my boxes from them. Thermoforming is incredibly expensive (the cost has given me a whole new appreciation for those clamshells in grocery stores that hold salad greens). As was mentioned earlier, the most costly part of that is the aluminum mold that must be made first. My recommendation for those beginning the business is to find the most beautiful stock box you can find (US Box has some very nice sets--box plus insert), but this works only if your chocolates are all approximately the same size--and a small size (about an inch, or 1.25" at the most--and their height must also be considered). Alas, in the beginning, I acquired many molds with larger cavities that have caused me great trouble and expense in finding packaging that will work.

Thanks so much for the information. Right now I am using boxes from Papermart which makes the bonbons look really elegant and pop. I guess I will wait until my business grows to start going the custom route.
