my Wine Buds @ TJ's recommended I try this after suggesting the G.V. above ;

its similar to the GV , but Im betting would be quite different if tasted side by side.

who can really remember various tastes and nuances ?  not me.

as my standard ref.  is Tj's Costal Chardonnay , this moves away from that in an interesting direction

as did the G.V.    $ 7.49 , not a Bank-Breaker  .  ice cold , quite nice

back label is fairly accurate , but I do not know what ' lively ' means in a wine.

certainly nothing was wiggling around as I swallowed .   Ill get this again , and keep a few bottles

as I now keep a few bottles of the G.V. , for a change from the TJ's C.C.

As I've lamented before, I don't have ready access to Trader Joe's. I'd definitely take a flyer on Vermentino, though. I thoroughly dislike Chardonnay, but the crisp and lively (and no, I can't define it either) wines that Don't Taste of Chardonnay and aren't sweet are right up my alley. If I ever get a chance, I'll give theirs a try.

Some day maybe try a Chardonnay that is crisp and lively and isn’t sweet.  Like a Chablis.

indeed.

TJ's Coastal Chardonnay is not sweet .

just not as crisp as a Chablis , my favorite white.

USA Chardonnay's for some reason have oak flavors , sometimes a lot.

Oak belongs on trees , not in wine.

I agree! It is the oakiness mostly, but some of them also leave a weird coating in my mouth.

generally TJ's does ' Mousse Cakes ' very well :

the cake is cake-ey and the mousse is generous

the offerings vary through out the year.

if you like raspberry , these are for you.  at this time they have heart shaped cake

chocolate frosting and mousse , w a red heart sugar tipping.

if you gently lift off that red heart, discard it , the rest is very nice .

I finally got to Trader Joe's yesterday--I think it has been about 6 months since my last trip. I passed on those cake bites. My sis is disappointed--she'd asked me to get her petit fours and there were none.

I picked up this curry to try--will let you know. My mind has gone blank (need coffee!) with what else I bought, but I spent a bloody fortune.

Reporting back on the Sri Lanka curry. It is super-instant, but I found it completely bland. I would not buy it again.

a tip from my Local Tj's wine-buds :

although you can return many items you don't like to TJ's

Wine might not be one of them :   This wine ' turned '  will work a lot better than ' I didnt like it '

go figure .

must have been a lot of people just dringking the wine , and returning the empties for replacement.

I did not take pix, but that last time I went to TJs, I got one of their Parlanno Pizzas. My freezer was beginning to be overstuffed, so I pulled it out last night, added a little more cheese to it and put it in the toaster oven. It was very tasty with a glass of some Portuguese red blend that I got at Costco. I'm never truly happy with the way pizza crust turns out in my particular toaster oven, but it was OK. Lots of toppings on it and I didn't even add anything other than the cheese.

some of Tj's small cheet cakes w frosting are quite decent .  The staff recommended this one :

IMG_6060.thumb.jpeg.72ac1f7635bf8a95843cce6e90dba67b.jpeg

its gluten free.  I do not have a gluten enteropathy , nor an aversion to wheat , but decided to try it.  those cookies hitched along.

the cake is moist , light and the frosting has nice chocolate flavor .  its a keeper .  Ill have to see if they still have

the standard cake .  the vanilla standard w vanilla frosting was quite nice the last time I tried it.

the cookies were a disappointment  .

I like their chocolate ganache sheet cake from the same area.  The cake is okay but the frosting is out of this world.

Might be my favorite frozen pizza certainly in the top two.  It took me a couple-three times to get the time/temp right in the Breville BOV800XL
