I recall a Chinese restaurant in DC named the Big Wong. Not sure what that was in reference to.
Hey, I've eaten at Big Wong! Good dim sum.

Back in the 80's it was our destination after a night at the 9:30 club, because it stayed open until 5am on the weekends. Alas, no memories of the food. I was usually in such a state that I couldn't tell you what I was consuming. :blink:

But aren't there any number of "Father's Office" "The Library", Your Sister's Place joints? So you can truthfully say you were at the Library, when you get home late.

And there's an Oarhouse in Bozeman. Montana, too.

Got to love the Buck Snort Restaurant Bar and Casino. It's in Evaro, MT, on Hwy 93. Actually I think there's one in Colorado too, but not sure if they're affiliated.

In Chicago, there's the Terminal Cafe, which happens to be at the end of a busline, but still makes you think twice about going in.

Also, up in Edgebrook: Thong Thai. Shoes or underwear, I'm not eating there.

And in Lincoln Square: Roseded (another Thai place, which is in fact quite good)

There's a popular Toronto pub that used to be called the Betty Ford, until legal threats resulted in a name change to Betty's. I no longer take out-of-town visitors there.....

Got to love the Buck Snort Restaurant Bar and Casino. It's in Evaro, MT, on Hwy 93. Actually I think there's one in Colorado too, but not sure if they're affiliated.

The Buck Snort Saloon in Pine, Colorado (about 30 miles west of Denver). Very popular, old time local mountain bar/dive, entertainment on weekends. Not affiliated with anyplace else.

Hog's Breath is also the name of a bar in Key West-- you see a lot of their t-shirts around South Florida, with the slogan "Hog's Breath is better than no breath at all."

When I lived in Albany NY working on a construction site, the guys used to hang out after work at a bar called Your Place. "Hey, where you going after work?" "Your Place."

Has anyone yet mentioned Ship of Fools, a bar on the Upper East Side of NYC? Or The Village Idiot, another bar on 14th Street and Ninth Avenue?

BTW: Nation's Restaurant News has a weekly feature listing "funny" names that readers send in, from all over the country. A recent one was Rhythm & Brews, in Boynton Beach, FL.

And the venerable Phoebe's in the East Village is now called Fuel. Ugh. Maybe because it's just a block away from B-Bar, which was originally a Gulf gas station.
