“Having a drink while you shop is the adult version eating samples at the grocery store,” the 43-year-old writer said. “You are walking around, enjoying something yummy.”

That’s not to say there isn’t an occasional downside. “A glass or two of wine does lead me to the fancy food aisle,” Kendall said. “I sometimes come home with more than my share of fig preserves and prosciutto."

"Imagine all the food you have eaten in your life and consider that you are simply some of that food, rearranged."  -Max Tegmark, physicist

Gene Weingarten, writing in the Washington Post about online news stories and the accompanying readers' comments: "I basically like 'comments,' though they can seem a little jarring: spit-flecked rants that are appended to a product that at least tries for a measure of objectivity and dignity. It's as though when you order a sirloin steak, it comes with a side of maggots."

When I can afford $2700 shoes I won’t object too much to dropping $17 on a cocktail but I really think it should be thrown in for free.😂 Frankly, I think the whole thing is rather a bad idea for both the seller and the buyer. In a litigious  society $2700 shoes and $17 cocktails strike me as a bit of a time bomb.

Meh, this is my relationship with Amazon.  A Belgian beer or G&T and my Wish List starts speaking to me..................

I bet there is a certain percentage of all online shopping that is greased with a tipple or two.

Oh heck that is how I ended up with a piano years ago. BevMo does tastings on the weekend (free) - the carts are piled full m- lots of  "cheeery" shoppers.

@Anna N Nordstrom has always had a very accommodating return policy.

I admit, I do enjoy selling chocolate at neighborhood wine walks, a few glasses really loosens up the credit cards!

Many of the nicer stores in Mexico that cater to tourists greet them at the door with an open beer.  Nice little touch I think!
