Picked a peck of peaches at one of the local pick-your-own farms. Today's peaches are Ernie's Choice, a very tasty yellow freestone.

Also picked a few blackberries and raspberries.

Another friend came to visit today. To be polite she brought fruit, as people do. But she kind of overdid it.

Love her, though.

Picked up some mangoes today.

Those yellow samples weigh 575g / 1lb 4oz in total whereas the green giant is a weighs 916g / 2lb 3oz on its own. The green is ready to eat, but the yellows need a day or two on the counter.

I intend using the green one to make my mango relish tomorrow morning, but I'll just eat the yellows.

We got 4 of similar to your giant green one here last weekend - they were still hard.  I put 3 in the "root cellar" and 1 on the counter to ripen.  It was ready last night - it was amazing!

Seems to be a bumper crop here on the prairies.
Apricots from my brother's tree:

Had a few that were ripe for snacking:

No peaches from B.C this year, but the ones from Ontario were good and reasonably priced. So I was able to make my yearly Peach Apricot Pineapple Conserve

My neighbor has one apple tree in his backyard. He's given me 2 x20 lb bags of these beauties! Thank goodness for the apple peeler. I have made tones of apple pie filling, and for apple crisps. A lot of work, so so rewarding for fall and winter!

蓝莓 (lán méi), blueberries, Vaccinium angustifolium, native to North America but cultivated here in Yunnan Province, south China.

Must admit I wouldn't mourn if I never saw another one.

An alternative Chinese name is 午饭果 (wū fàn guǒ), literally 'black rice fruit', with 'rice' indicating 'small'. I've always thought this a more appropriate name. They aren't blue in my eyes.
