Ricotta Gnudi with Red Pepper-Salsiccia Ragu - one of those dishes were the flavors are spot on but the execution/texture wasn’t perfect. The gnudi barely kept their shape when briefly cooked in water and started to slowly disintegrate - not really sure what went wrong. The gnudi were made with drained ricotta, parmesan, semolina, egg yolks and nutmeg. For the ragu you puree grilled red peppers, tomatoes, walnuts, garlic, smoked paprika, red wine vinegar and olive oil and cook it with crumbled salsiccia. Finished with parmesan, walnuts and some basil

Provincetown, the "Outer Cape," and Wellfleet Too

I did ask last night and they said it changes each evening. Last night it was squash blossoms, baby zucchini, and shisito peppers. I guess opinions vary, but I don’t actually think they are that similar. The fonts are completely different. The Chatham logo has a wave, etc. I also don’t think “Stars” is a business name that you can copyright, since it’s a common term. Breakfast menu We both got the smoked salmon, and should have just shared a plate. We were not expecting it to be so big. And then it was back to North Beach Island for more exploring. We walked eight miles today looking for interesting stuff. We found a shipwreck! The piece we could see was about 25 feet long. I researched it when we got back to the resort and found news reports of it surfacing in 2010 and 2018. Some of the photos from those times showed a lot more of it. There’s apparently a whole layer of wood under this one that runs crosswise to these planks and everything is held together by wooden pegs. More fish boats bringing in their catch in the afternoon We went to the casual restaurant on property for dinner. Menu Husband had a salted watermelon margarita. I was boring and stuck to club soda We ordered the tuna appetizer to share. This was tasty. Husband also wanted the fried calamari. This was massive! I think we ate about 25% of it. It was tasty, but if we had known it was going to be so large we would not have ordered it. Husband got a lobster roll. He said it was nice, but he really prefers warm lobster rolls to the chilled version I got the Thai cucumber salad with grilled shrimp added. I really liked this. Dessert We split the almond joy sundae. This was a bit of a bust. The ice cream was fairly melted and the tuile was way too sticky. We each had one bite and ditched it. Oh well, we probably did not need all that sugar anyway! Post dinner beach walk views -
I'd definitely go out more. But really - how much better could they eat, if you're already cooking for them!?

Padang style grilled chicken. It's first simmered in gulai which is basically the same ingredients as rendang but still soupy. Once the chicken was done, it was removed and I kept the gulai going until it thickened to what is called kalio - which was served on the side as like a dipping sauce. I put the chicken in the air fryer rather than actually grilling. Served with sambal ijo...

It smells and tastes better than it looks!

My auto correct has become the equivalent of the last trolley at the supermarket recently. A mind of its' own that shouldn't be allowed in public.
-
I hadn't heard of this before but now I need it. RIGHT NOW 🥄
-
I suspect if I won - other people would eat better!

My life wouldn't change much. Perhaps I'd eat the same food but in better locations.

@weinoo ....my thoughts exactly at first look. How could that not be intentional? - Yesterday

I like what I like and I doubt I'd change my eating habits if I ever had such a windfall. Maybe I could afford to indulge in what I like more often (champagne, fois gras) than once a year. But the question makes me think of what I would really miss if I couldn't afford it anymore..... just today I was wondering what else we would/could have for Christmas dinner (usually I get a beef roast like a prime rib) because the price of beef is just insane....

The Barenaked Ladies had this one covered, decades ago. "If I had a million dollars, We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner. (But we would eat Kraft Dinner. Of course we would, we'd just eat more. And buy really expensive ketchup with it. That's right, all the fanciest... Dijon Ketchup. Mmmmmm.)" ETA: "Kraft Dinner" is what the blue-box mac & cheese is called, here in Canada, often just shortened to "KD."

I’ve got the super and yes, sharp and worthy of extreme respect! I got cut cleaning the thing, after carefully and safely slicing using the included guard and cut resistant gloves for insurance. 🙄

This actually raises an interesting question. If all of a sudden (or even not so suddenly) you had a continuing supply of lots and lots of money, would it change your eating habits? Would you opt for Wagyu whenever you felt like it? Would you indulge in Caspian caviar? Would you choose wild king salmon instead of farmed sockeye? Jeni's instead of Breyers ice cream? Brunello instead of Chianti? Or would you just buy thicker bologna and call it good?
-
I got the Super (I think there are 3 variants) for $43! And I believe, that just as is often with Japanese knives, the Benriner is probably the sharpest of the blades.

Affecting. Yes, it still matters. AI says a lot of wrong stuff. And maggots in your food are generally not good (unless you're in Sardinia, but even then....c'mon).
-
Good for him. Just goes to show that often it's the little things that matter.

Yes, and here is another I have that's a few cents cheaper (eG-friendly Amazon.com link)

I am not claiming this as a precedent or foundation rule for any other similar situations or for any one who may be reading this about their own stupidly left out pack of meat, but we tested it and have been fine. I will however cuation about 'on our cold kitchen floor for less than four hours near air conditioning' and 'left in a car trunk in august'. This was one very specific case. Those of you who think this is dangerous will say we got lucky, those who felt the evidence suggested a very low likelihood of having a problem were right but could have been wrong. I think a cautious intelligent examination made us confident it was wortth a shot and now a large amount of sliced meat doesn't need to go to waste. Thank you all regardlesss of your opinion.

These were the ones ic mentioned this was a long time ago. less $$ then , but a purchase that needed thought. Fine stuff then , and still fine in my drawer now

It appears to me that this one by WELTOHMH (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) is one such clone. Do you agree? I note that it's marked down right now, from $39.99 to $28.99.

I evaluate a lot of kitchen products. I have more than half a dozen mandolines. But my favorite is one I actually purchased: (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) This model exists in exact clones for a lot less. I've ended up in the emergency room after slicing myself with a knife. So far not yet from a mandoline.
-
I sold mine to a guy from Canada who claimed to be a chef. He promptly sliced three fingers and wound up in the emergency room.
