I think i saw a blurb on this on TV once. It kinda looked good, especially on a hot day. I think they take icecream and a bunch of toppings and mix it all together on a chilled marble slab so it stays cold.

I've been twice, and find it very frustrating. A little organization could get the wait to 10 minutes.

Plans have started for our new production kitchen at 845 East Hastings to keep up with the popular demand for our frozen home replacement meals. Located in Vancouver's up and coming Strathcona neighborhood, the 12,000 square foot facility will not only include much needed warehouse space, it will also house new cheese caves custom built to nurture and age cheese to perfection. Long term, there are plans for a possible third retail store.

The new facility will be just minutes from downtown Vancouver, Gastown and is within walking distance to Caren McSherry's Gourmet Warehouse, Chinatown and some of the city's best restaurant supply stores.

So ShoreClub is open, Goldfish is open and Metro is, apparently, open.

Just a couple of thoughts:

1) Aren't the people going to ShoreClub just going to be the ones who were already going to Gotham ?

Sure hope so, but they always come back because we are known for solid steakhouse food, and confident, capable service.

Ofcourse business is up 20% over last year and growing every year, so their seems to be lots of people other than this percieved clique you imagine come to these restaurants. It is not just the monied, and the beautiful who come. It is a solid cross-section of clientelle who enter our doors.

Too many stories, and myths keep some thinking that we run a place for a select group. If you want the best steakhouse experience in town we got it.

Brand spanking new Keg in Burnaby, set to open Monday, off Willingdon, just south of Lougheed. Took a peek inside yesterday and wow, what a room. Beautiful wood panelling throughout, snazzy bar, comfy lounge area, couple fireplaces for those dreary wet days, nice deck for the sunny ones. Same old menu, though...

Heavenly Bites on Hastings, which was set to open mid-June, still nowhere near. Still dark and papered over. Wonder what happened.

Yes, it's the same location. The old Keg is a steak bone's throw from here, in all its boarded up, dilapidated glory. In fact, you can actually see the new Keg from Willingdon. Very fine building, and yes, I agree, Burnaby is in desperate need of a decent lounge (it will be interesting to see how the new Gateway Casino's lounge turns out). I'll try and take in the deck while the weather's still deck-friendly and report back.

Banano's on Pacific which was closed for renovations is no more. It has been replaced with "Salsa & Agave" which looks to be opening soon.
