Don't forget Heidi Swanson's 101 Cookbooks. I think it' smuch more than a blog but she's been a real pioneer and now has a great book out and writes everywhere. She really is the poster child for what's good about blogging.

I do notice many bloggers start out great and then peter out. I think that's why there are professional writers and traditional press still.

I really like this one.

I want to put in a good word for mmm-yoso!, the blog of my fellow San Diego-based food fiend Kirk. According to the blog's one-line description: "An Ex-Pat Kama'aina explores food in San Diego and points beyond." The thoroughness and humor with which he does that is really delightful--not to mention really helpful. And he specializes in a lot of my favorite kinds of places: little hole-in-the-wall mom'n'pop joints, especially anyplace serving Asian foods or Hawaiian plate lunch.

And, last but not least, Scent of Green Bananas from Santos who blogs from a small but gorgeous island in the Western Pacific and the Philippines. Look for her shots of the produce found in Filipino markets.

There are two types of food blogs for me, the kind that are people sharing their thoughts and images about food and food in their lives, and then there are the ones that are meant to inspire me to do more with my own food photography and writing. Some food bloggers also have blogs that deal with the technical and aesthetic issues of food blogging.

There's one I check often to see if she's got something new up - Still Life With. It's a blog entirely about food photography with some really interesting information that she's putting up regularly. One thing I love about this blog is that it is full of tips for someone working at home and technical stuff I've never even thought of.

When I decided to start my own blog for my friends and family at the beginning of this year, I signed up at the Food Blog S'cool which is run by Sam at Becks & Posh and there have gotten feedback and help from other members on technical issues. There is a lot of giving going on there. I like that. :smile:

Algerian Cuisine blog The only blog I know in English, French, Arabic or Berber that is soley dedicated to Algerian cuisine.

Later I'm starting a French cuisine blog that will cover regional, bistro cooking and cuisine gastronomic.

Yep, I guess you're all out of space already but I just had to add some of my favorites.

I would like to add a vote for Amateur Gourmet and also mention another blog called Chubby Hubby that has imo some of the best food photography I've seen on a blog. The blogger is from Singapore and offers a great mix of eating out and cooking at home.

does anyone else feel sorry for that kid?

I don't. He seems to really enjoy his food. When I showed my 8yr old neice the foodblog and told her about the lunches his mom makes for him she said " He's really lucky".

This is coming from a child who's parents often give her a lunchable to take to school.
