ah yes, not quite up to doing links in things yet, I'm afraid. Sorry. It did seem like a bit of a tramp, but is very nice up there. Made me think about moving.

hullo, hullo we went to Brighton quite recently and couldn't get a table at SevenDials at the right time so ended up in this newish gastro(eek)pub called the Chimney House a bit of a walk from there. We had a really quite lovely (and goodness me a bit cheaper) dinner: nothing crazy, but goats cheese with peas, mint and broad beans was delicious, and I had some top-notch fish for main. And -- now I remember why the meal is wee bit fuzzy -- it has a good wine list. Like proper. And I think some decent cider too. It's no smoking as well, I think [/not in a facist way] Certainly it's good if you're going for a few nights and want a more informal meal...

egulleters, you are a mine of blogging inspiration -- thanks particularly for those sites outside the US/Europe loop, there's some really interesting stuff going on that I'd have missed completely otherwise. Sadly my wordcount means I can't possibly mention everything I'd have liked to, but thanks v much for sharing...

Yes, some blogs just have brilliant photography that makes me feel like my food is a bit rubbish in comparison... it can be a bit scary. In a good way. But I find even though I read them, I might not actually cook anything from a blog? Am I just a bit wierd like this? Get inspiration perhaps, but not really follow a recipe? btw, thanks v much for your help on this. is v interesting for me and stops me writing a piece that is essentially just my view...

Oooh thanks very much for these -- I really like Chocolate and Zucchini, it has a really lovely writing style, and I enjoy the mix of things... and of course Chez Pim is amazing for a good foodie drool... Do you find you visit different blogs for different reasons -- some for ingredient ideas, others because you really connect with the writer? I think I have a mixture of reasons, and I'm kind of interested in what other people think... And I guess, what people think of food blogs full stop.

How about Nigel Slater's Real Fast Food -- the man is some kind of God. I use it practically every week night - it's practical, quick and really delicious. The perfect post-work, rummage in your fridge and pull something out cookbook. Yum.
