Breakfast 2025

I had some dough I wanted to use so I took it out of the fridge last night at midnight and baked three small pizzas this morning.

 

One was Italian Sausage, mushrooms and green olives,

one , just Italian sausage and mushrooms

 

and one

 

was a Margherita.

Moe had the one with olives for breakfast. I'm taking the one without the olives for lunch, and Matt had the Margherita.

Faux Congee, I am making it up as I go along. Rice, char siu pork, portions of braised in soy sauce egg plant. Anyway?, it is an enjoyable breakfast for me.

Cacio e Pepe Polenta: Bob's Red Mill corn meal cooked with the addition of Kampot black pepper, 12-month aged Pecorino Romano, and a small pat of unsalted Kerry Gold butter, accompanied by some strong Himalayan black tea. I don't have my glasses handy this morning so I hope the image looks OK.

Scrambled eggs with leftover pork loin, flavored with three kinds of chiles (jalapeno, long red, and roasted Poblano), shallots, garlic, cumin seed, scallions, Thai basil, and feta in brine (which melted into the eggs).

Riff on Parsi scrambled eggs with bay scallops: sautee onion, jalapeno, garlic, and ginger in ghee. Mix in chopped cilantro and mint, add scallops and partly cook, and then finish with eggs beaten with milk. I meant to add some soft feta but oh well. Cukes on the side.
