FINE then!!!  Pepper it is!

I put that shit on everything!!!

😆

My husband was the same! He liked a little egg with his pepper at breakfast! And we nearly came to blows, early in our marriage, over the amount of pepper he put in his split pea stew! I, however, rarely reach for the pepper grinder.

I still think it's cumin for me.

And yes, this is a fun discussion.

White pepper is just black pepper with the coating removed,

I agree with everything you say except this.

Although they both come from the same Berry the difference is in the Harvest and preparation of that Berry. The Taste is completely different and they are not interchangeable. This article gives a pretty comprehensive overview.

You both make fair points. As a comparison, chilli varieties are legion, they can be harvested ripe or unripe, and they can be prepared in myriad ways (pickled, dried, smoked, etc.). But they are all chilies.

So in my world, pepper includes black and white, despite the fact that they are harvested and prepared differently.
