I'd also like to sign up for morato please

I'm putting you there - but we may discover that they won't give us enough spaces - so don't be too heart broken if we can't get you in.

Trying to help Kerry out here, a bit.  Here are the posts I think you need most to determine the timeline and the schedule (first event Thursday, May 12, but it may be full already):

Thanks Smithy - good to have it in one place!

Some good news today - the big room at George Brown is booked - so Morato is open. Cost will still be $30. When their website goes up to sign up I'll post the link. We can each be responsible for our own signup.

  • 2 weeks later...

Workshop location under production - Selmi's settling in - a bit of work required on one today. A couple of young children were visiting - we folded up a few bunnies - no fridge big enough yet so popped them outside to cool.

or a Rational ?

One of the other rooms has a Pavallier deck oven and a professional convection (can't recall brand). Proofer retarder, depositor, chamber vac on list before Rational.

While I would love to join you, and see Toronto, distance makes it impossible. Is there any part of the weekend that would be suitable for people to join in with remotely? 'Webinars' seem to be increasingly popular for training purposes, I was wondering if this might be a way for those of us too far away to join you to take part?  I would happily pay any workshop fee necessary.

I know that each year someone suggests that - but there is really too much going on to make it practical. And of course it removes the hands on advantage of the workshops.

I can understand that, and apologies for repeating something raised before.

I wonder if there is scope for a separate, much scaled down event at a different time that would allow participants from around the world to join in. Something like a Master Class perhaps? If the topic was agreed in advance we could all make sure we had appropriate equipment and ingredients to hand. I'm not certain as to the appropriate technology that would allow participants to join in via iPad or smart phone but I would be happy to research this. These devices would allow participants to join in from their kitchens.

apologies if this is straying off topic, also if again the idea has already been discussed. I love reading eGullet but limited time means there is a lot I have missed!
