Favorite candy

From the everyday commercial stuff, my favorite is probably Payday as long as it's fresh. The salted peanuts help cut the sweetness a little. I don't mind Skor but I'd like them to have less chocolate. I get in the mood for a Mars bar (the ones with almonds) now and then as well.

It's kinda like wrestling a gorilla... you don't stop when you're tired, you stop when the gorilla is tired.

The elusive Kit-Kat Dark (now available from Amazon!)

Gene Weingarten, writing in the Washington Post about online news stories and the accompanying readers' comments: "I basically like 'comments,' though they can seem a little jarring: spit-flecked rants that are appended to a product that at least tries for a measure of objectivity and dignity. It's as though when you order a sirloin steak, it comes with a side of maggots."

I second the dark Kit Kat but may I also suggest Melon Kit Kat, Soy Sauce Kit Kat and Apple Kit Kat -- they're really amazing.

Besides the store bought candies I really like nougat. It doesn't have to be chocolate dipped, but soft.

Anyone remember Watchyamacallits or Chunkies? Those were my favs way back when. Then again Mounds and Almond Joy were pretty good, or the 100,000 Dollar Bar or. . . .

Heath bars, 5th Avenue, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Almond Joy, M&M's plain and peanut, haven't tried the pretzel ones, would probably love them.

Dear Food: I hate myself for loving you.

Snickers is the greatest candy bar ever developed, with the possible exception of the Snickers ice cream bar. I can't have them in the house. Though I'm a big peanut butter cup fan as well.

The funny thing is, I never even liked Snickers until I worked at a store where we sold them, and I got to try them "fresh". The were usually a bit warmer than room temp coming off the truck, maybe 80°F, so the caramel and nougat were soft. OMG. Keep me away from the box...
