You can get T-shirts made at Cafe Press with anything on them I think, no?  www.cafepress.com

Yes, you can. However, their business model lends itself to items that are typically ordered one or two at a time, for shipping. For custom-made apparel and other promotional items that will be sold and/or distributed at a single place and time, such as at an event, you can usually do better (for price and often for quality) by working with a local vendor specializing in such items.

Hi everybody - need a bagpiper at the 2008 Heartland Gathering?

Yes. Bagpipers are essential at any important gathering.

She's not kidding, folks. From the 2005 Heartland Gathering in Ann Arbor:

Gene Weingarten, writing in the Washington Post about online news stories and the accompanying readers' comments: "I basically like 'comments,' though they can seem a little jarring: spit-flecked rants that are appended to a product that at least tries for a measure of objectivity and dignity. OK, CaliPoutine dragged me back over here from the blogosphere to alert me to this planning thread. I'm definitely in. Figure it's me plus 1. I might let my daughter tag along for the entire thing (or my husband - depends who's nicer to me leading up to it, LOL). She loved helping Randi cook when we attended in 2006:

I thought that passing quietly in ones sleep was one of the best ways to go, and then there was le petite mort turning into le grande mort, now I must add Meat Exhaustion. I have considered death by Foie, where ones liver becomes non-functioning due to excessive fattened liver to be a palindromic, and excellent way to kick. I would like foie funneled down my throat instead of having someone just pull the plug. I would like my assisted suicide paired with a sauterne. A euthanasia that goes perfectly with a Chatuea d’Yquem.

And thus, you would go to your "foie grave".

I'm still looking for a palindrome in here. I am, admittedly, having a bad day. If it's bloody obvious, please be gentle . . .

There is no literal palindrome one just a gluttonous one. Maybe a Mobius strip of fatal gout might be a better way to describe it.

Is anyone going to smuggle in some foie for the shindig?

I've long followed the Heartland gathering threads, jealously. The Chicago location has convinced my baseball-loving sweetheart that this is the year to try our best to join in.

Can you put me +1 as possible attendees? We have to work out logistics.

Thanks so much for all your hard work organizing this!
