I've been wanting to try something like this since Ling mentioned an omelette stuffed with ham and avocado. I didn't have any ham on hand, so I used salami and avocado in these scrambled eggs. MMM-mmm good.

Other than that, I've been on another kick for leftover rice with milk, Splenda, and raisins on it.

Oven roasted Kielbasa with raspberry honey mustard, crisp bacon, omelet with broccoli and caramelized onion, sourdough tartines, cherry/strawberry preserves and some paper-thin slices from a 4x5x1 slice of smoked elk, gift from a friend from Bosnia...smoked it for two months in his smokehouse.

Senseo coffee and 5-Alive. Norah Jones on the CD player.

Percyn, you forced me to get my own egg-fix. Please don't do this to me again! :laugh:

scrambled eggs with creme fraiche, chives and fake caviar. The 'caviar' is actually made from.. soy. :shock: I bought this to garnish blini at a dinnerparty. It tastes salty, fishy, and it made for good conversation at the dinnertable (we were honest about it ofcourse).

Chufi, your eggs look better, so I hesitate to post these... but since we have the day off today:

Soft scrambled eggs with maitake (hen of the woods) mushrooms and onion herb cream cheese

If you haven't tried these mushrooms in eggs, run to the store to get some. They are really deep woodsy flavor that goes great with scrambled eggs.

I usually dont take pics of partially eaten food, but the yolks of the country eggs look so good, that I had to take this pic (thought the yolk in real life was a bit more golden/orange).

P.S: Chufi, I have heard about the soy based faux caviar, but not tried it. Does it "pop" like the real thing?

not really. That's why I also had trout eggs on the blini, becuase of the 'pop'factor. It looked absolutely smashing though, the pink and black together (as you can see here)

Percy's photo inspired me to make buttermilk waffles.

I was starving and they were so good (nice and fluffy thanks to whipped egg white).

Cooked up some sausage for my brekkie companion.

And snowangel, toast is my favorite too. My family has a slight obsession.

I prefer it done in the toaster oven though, butter added before toasting and to medium color.

Then again, I was able to enjoy a nice Nutella Croissant this morning at the new deli in Yaletown, accompanied by a very excellent americano. A perfect start to another gorgeous day in Lotusland :raz:

Guess what I had for breakfast today. Another chocolate cake. :laugh: This one came from Japan, and was filled with some sort of liquor (rum?) soaked raisins. Very dense, nice and bittersweet--however, not quite as dense as Deborah's flourless chocolate cake. Heavenly! Also, I had chocolate rugelaches and jam and walnut rugelaches. (What is the plural for rugelach? Rugelachs?)

I am somewhat in awe of those of you who are awake enough at breakfast time to point and focus a camera. :smile:

LOL!

We had a real breakfast Sunday morning. We were staying with Russ's sister Judy who lives in Palm Bay, the Melbourne (FL) area. She served grapefruit that she went out and picked from her backyard, and then seeded and cut up; :smile: a nice homemade coffee cake called Cowboy Coffee Cake which they used to eat as kids; scrambled eggs; and "country ham" which was awesome. I forgot to take a picture when she served the ham and eggs, but here's the table she set for the meal.

Palm Bay is about an hour and a half south of here, so it was a little warmer than our area. It was a nice morning, but then we left and a terrible tornado hit her town. We are still waiting to hear from her.

before we had to go out and shovel the 8.5 inches of snow we got overnight - made maypo using milk and water then served it with maple syrup and toast dope dusted on top. got us through 1.5 hours of shoveling :biggrin:

Nothing is better than frying in lard.

Don't worry Suzi, I know exactly what you mean about yesterday's snow. Breakfast yesterday morning was a pot of coffee, a lb of bacon and 4 eggs sunnyside up. Sorry but when I'm faced with snow like yesterday, I need comfort :biggrin::biggrin:
