Breville Paradice 9

I spent part of the afternoon trying out my new toy and diced fresh pineapple, some ham and peeled some potatoes and beets.  The dicing took seconds and cleanup was just as fast.  I had trouble with the peeling function and called Breville for help.  Had a really nice customer service person;  it turned out to be operator error.  Here are some pics, excluding the beets.

@ElsieD

wow  that's quite something.

wish I had a common use for dice.

no doubt Ill dream up something over night.

my question is : doesn't the ' vertical ' dimension , ie the dimension you ' push down '

depend on how hard you push the food down ?

Beautiful!  I'm thinking I'll use it for making potato salad next.

Which dicing disc will you use?  I'm wondering if I should get the two additional discs- the 8mm and the 16mm.

So about $850 CDN for the FP and the dice kit?  It'd be more if you wanted all 3 sizes?

I don't know where you live so I think your best bet is to go to the Breville web site.  They list the prices for whatever you may want.

The Paradice 9 has only the one dicing blade, it's the 12msize.

I doubt that you'd need any others unless you're planning to dice everything.

I don't know.  Maybe I'll try it.

I did.  The Sous Chef 16 FP alone is $499.95 USD.   The Paradice 3-size kit alone is $249.95.  Bundled with the Paradice 3-size kit, it's $699.95, a $50 savings.

I finally broke out the Paradice 9 to make a pot of corn chowder.

I was mostly interested in how well the unit would dice.

I'm pretty impressed; the potatoes, the bell peppers, cheese and onion all were diced perfectly!  Watch it in action here.

Nice video. I want one of those!!!!!!!

I just ordered the 8mm slicing grid and disc.  @lindag have you used the 16mm dicing grid for anything?  I couldn't think of what i'd use it for so didn't order it.  The 12mm was perfect for the pineapple I diced but the ham could have used a smaller dice.

I think I mentioned somewhere that the P-9 has only the 12mm grid and that is the only one available in for that model, at least as of now.  For me, that's all I really need.

Actually, now that you've got me thinking about it, I'd probably go for the 8mm disc if they made one for my model.

No.  with the Sous Chef 16 the compatibility  kit is not needed.

I have the Sous Chef 16 and just ordered the 3 disc set.

If I'm not mistaken, your dicing kit included an 8mm disc.

My mistake, I though you'd got the set of three dicers.

@ElsieD

I have the Sous Chef 16 Pro and bought the Dicing Kit  to go with it.

It turns out that the Sous Chef Pro is not the same as the Sous Chef (?).

The spindle in the kit does not fit my FP!  I am very upset with myself and with Breville e for not making this clear.

@lindag. I have the Breville Sous Chef model BFP800XL/A.  I tried the spindle from the dice kit I bought and it fits my sous chef.  Maybe you could talk to the Breville people?

I plan to do just that first thing tomorrow morning.
