2 egg omelet with a filling of chard, mushrooms, onion, feta and herbs. Server with sauteed herbed potatoes and tomatoes.

The omelet was a touch too browned but still custardy inside.

Fish cakes made with cooked haddock and shrimp, chopped potato, onion, red Thai and shishito peppers, cilantro and dill, enough mayo to loosely bind, coated with panko and browned and warmed through.

Yesterday with beans and a soft scrambled egg.

Today with soft scrambled eggs and a toasted WW bagel with crabapple habanero jelly.

Yesterday I picked up fresh halibut before work with the intention of having Halibut Fish and Chips for dinner.
This is the last week for having fresh halibut. Season is just ending.
I was tired and not that hungry when I got home from work and Moe said that he wasn't overly hungry either
HalibutFishandChipsforBreakfastNovember3rd2024.thumb.jpg.cdbaeb3cdb2c45e9ab035f58985f5d58.jpg
so I gave him the option of having it for breakfast or tonight's dinner. He choose breakfast.

So that is what we had. Beer battered halibut with homemade double fried fries.
Although I often cook dinner for breakfast, I don't remember ever doing fish and chips for breakfast.

Granola2024-11-02.jpeg.d78d34bf98675eb9be885c11c26f11d4.jpeg

Made a nice batch of granola yesterday.  Oats, pistachio nuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried blueberries, dried currants and golden raisins (dried fruit added after cooking the granola).

Made Asian style soup for lunch. The chilli crisp on top is Australian made called Umami Papi… very nice and not too spicy. The previous bottle of LaoGanMa wasn’t any good so I wanted to try another brand. The garnish on top is coriander from the garden that has gone to flower. I don’t mind eating little flowers.
The soup was made from chicken stock with baby bok choy, chopped green onions, zucchini, grated galangal and a sprinkle of rice. They were bought frozen prawn dumplings.

I’m sorry, I posted the above in breakfast and it should have been in the Lunch thread.

I wouldn't say no to that soup for breakfast.

Especially on a snow clearing morning.

Last month, I posted in the Fun Stuff thread about having bought a selection of sausages. I've been slowly working  my way through them.

These are described as Mexican Grilling Sausages.

Mexican.jpg

They've been sitting vacuum sealed in my freezer, but yesterday I dug one out. This morning  I didn't grill it (no grill) but fried it.

Then split itinto two to see the interior.

Specks of chilli and some unidentifiable herb.

I then stuck it into a section of baguette and called it breakfast. Very good. Mildly spicy and good pork flavour. I have no idea how Mexican it really is. Made in China.

Dinner for breakfast again.
This is becoming a habit. Especially on the days that I work,

Moe really likes having his big meal in the morning and it works for me because I'll take the same for lunch.
And because I'm up so early and have hours before I need to leave, I really enjoy cooking or baking bread in the morning.

Unconventional breakfast,

I make a batch of these pork and chive ravioli / wontons every month or so and freeze them. This morning I was in a hurry so boiled some up (they take two minutes from frozen), dressed them with freshly ground black pepper and served with some real Thai Sriracha.
