Hello everyone. In a few weeks I am throwing my birthday party. There are going to come my friends, I have a cake ordered and the rest I am going to do on my own. What I want to prepare except food are drinks. I love coconuts but I don't know how to make tasty coconut drinks. Do you have any recipes? But please, make them easy, I am not an expert in drink making! 😓

If you want to stay in the very simple category, there is a cocktail mix called mudslide, which tastes something like a chocolate soda. It's good with coconut rum. You could up the coconut flavor with cream of coconut. It would lend itself to mixing in a big pitcher or punchbowl.

If you're not of the variety who finds evil in drinks from the sweeter side, there's a whole range of coconut drinks in tiki land. I have no opposition to sweetness in drinks but what Hassouni posted above sounds pretty tasty. Gonna have to give that one a try.

Whatever ratios you use for a highball, 1 part rum to 2 coconut water is a good start. Note that aged rum tends to complement the coconut better.

 

In Cuba, there's a drink called Saoco, which is rum, lime, coconut water and enough to sugar to balance the lime

 

Also in Puerto Rico at least, blended scotch is often drunk with coconut water by the older set - in this case, a softer one like Dewar's works better than something like Johnnie Walker.

 

 

These drinks are great, you can drink em back to back and stay hydrated :D
